She's moderately hot, but I've had better girls in my time.

Name: Anonymous 2008-06-09 17:11

>>36
I don't understand the sentiment of your post. To work in CS (95% male sociotards) with everyone in work and community worshipping her, would give her high self-esteem and make her feel good about herself, on the other hand, the need to get attention to feel good about yourself probably shows low self-esteem.

Judging by the scarring on her face, she probably had acne as a teenager and was probably chubby, thus encouraging a geeky personality, and, as happens quite a lot (annoyingly, after you rejected them in high school), became quite attractive as an adult.

Name: Anonymous 2008-06-09 17:12

http://www.flickr.com/photos/briansolis/665437087/sizes/o/
And I really find the shape of her face particularly attractive either. I think she might be hiding a slightly poor skin complexion under that makeup too, but it's hard to tell.

Yes, it's probably acne. It logically does not follow that a girl of the following criteria,

1) attractive facial features,
2) attractive body,
3) doesn't have acne and/or other skin condition,
4) not fat,

(one might say that all female computer programmers only full fills three of these conditions)

can become a computer programmer. I hypothesise that it requires low social self-esteem during childhood onwards or during the teen age for a person to become a programmer. Or perhaps I am just projecting.

Name: Anonymous 2008-06-09 17:22

>>43
Hm, not fat and attractive body can be merged into one critereon.

1) Attractive facial features
2) Attractive body (e.g. not fat)
3) No acne and/or other skin condition

Female programmers can only possess two of these properties.

Name: Anonymous 2008-06-09 17:23

>>44
(If you can find one that possesses all three, then they are in a relationship, or are religious -- which should be a deal breaker.)

Well, she's a very successful hot female geek, and that unique position is quite enough to increase her self-esteem to very high levels. Plus there's the worshipping. She doesn't have to have a need to get attention to be flattered by the massive worshipping she gets. It's quite massive.

Would you please highlight the scarring? I see none. Also, I don't think she was chubby. If she had used to be chubby, she would now be either sluttier or weirder than she is. She seems too normal to have been an ex-chubbette.

A little girl asked her Mom, "Mom, may I take the dog for a walk around the block?

Mom replies, "No, because she is in heat."

"What's that mean?" asked the child.

"Go ask your father. I think he's in the garage."

The little girl goes to the garage and ays, "Dad, may I take Belle for a walk around the block? I asked Mom, but she said the dog was in heat, and to come to you."

Dad said, "Bring Belle over here." He took a rag, soaked it with gasoline, and scrubbed the dog's backside with it and said, "Okay, you can go now, but keep Belle on the leash and only go one time around the block."

The little girl left, and returned a few minutes later with no dog on the leash. Surprised, Dad asked, "Where's Belle?"

The little girl said, "She ran out of gas about halfway down the block, so another dog is pushing her home."

Three Irishmen, Paddy, Sean and Seamus, were stumbling home from the pub late one night and found themselves on the road which led past the old graveyard.

"Come have a look over here," says Paddy, "It's Michael O'Grady's grave, God bless his soul. He lived to the ripe old age of 87."

"That's nothing," says Sean, "here's one named Patrick O'Tool, it says here that he was 95 when he died."

Just then, Seamus yells out, "Good God, here's a fella that got to be 145!"

"What was his name?" asks Paddy.

Seamus stumbles around a bit, awkwardly lights a match to see what else is written on the stone marker, and exclaims, "Miles, from Dublin."

Dear Leah Culver,

Your acne scars are beautiful, don't listen to what anyone else tells you about them. They give you character, something that most girls would die for. Everyone knows that a totally smooth face is boring.

Sincerely,

The Sussman

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-14 11:55

Your thread was perhaps one of the strangest threads I have ever read. Although it is flattering to have a ``pervert fan club'', in fact, it is a very bad idea. Unlike most of human society, blogging and programming are based on the idea that each of us is capable of evaluating evidence and mindlessly reposting it on our own. Each of us can do experiments, work out the reasoning, and determine the truth for ourselves. There is no room in programming for ``fans'' representing sexual desire over individual thought or discussion of acne. One of my heroes, Galileo, put it very well:

I cannot without great wonder, nay more, disbelief, hear it being attributed to natural bodies as a great honor and perfection that they are impassable, immutable, inalterable, etc.: as conversely, I hear it esteemed a great imperfection to be alterable, generable, and mutable. It is my opinion that the face is very noble and admirable by reason of the many and different alterations, mutations, and generations which incessantly occur in it.

I am pleased to talk with people about matters of laptop etching or python, so you and your colleagues may certainly send me mail. I hope to learn as much from your experiences as you may learn for me. But please get rid of the ``disgusting group of filthy-minded teenage perverts'' way of thinking. It is unwelcome and ultimately disturbing.

Name: Anonymous 2008-07-14 12:35

I’m really tired of guys saying stupid, sexist things in blog comments. I really wish that every time some jerk says something completely inappropriate I could just snub him. In the physical world I could slap him, toss a drink in his face, or just walk away. Not that I advocate violence, but for some reason dudes think that they can get away with saying almost anything on the internet. Not true.

Punctuation and capitalization, motherfucker!  Do you speak it?
Whenever I'm about to get angry I ask myself "Would Leah Culver want me to get angry?"

Usually the answer is no, so I get angry just to piss in her Wheaties.  Then for shits I punch her in the acne-pocked face until I don't feel angry anymore.

Get the fuck out.

The whole message. Right below.

    Dear Ms. Leah Culver

I'm writing to you on behalf a funny, but serious issue. Please consider reading this e-mail and please read it when you have time and energy to do so. If you have that, please continue reading :).

A little about myself. I'm an anonymous poster from the one of the biggest english BBS and imageboard www.4chan.org, simply known as ``4chan". You can find more about 4chan on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4chan. 4chan contains quite a few imageboards, where most of them focus on mature and random content/pictures. Most of the content is funny, but there is also bizzare, stupid, and straight outrageous content. It has made some of the most know content on the Internet and I'm sure you have heard about them ( such as the Rickroll ). Please, also take this as a warning, if you at some point going to access one of the imageboards. The imageboard /b/ - Random can contain disturbing images.

But, I'm not here to set focus on the imageboard, as there is enough focus on it already. The purpose of this mail is draw your attention to the BBS-boards 4chan has. One of the BBS I'm mostly on is of course, programming board. And as the name indicates, the board it called ``Programming" or with the directory ``/prog/ - Programming". Most of the time /prog/-posters refer the board simply as ``/prog/".

The /prog/-board was largely meant for serious discussion on programming, but also help with construction of programs, discussion of computer theory and the art of programming. Although gradualy, over the years, the board has decayed and rotten to a board that is mostly filled with trolls ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_(Internet) ), general idiocy and just stupid people who ask questions like "OMG HOW DO I HAX MYSPACE??? ROFLMAO XD". Although in the recent time, another matter has caught their attention. As you are hopefully reading this e-mail you have probably realized that the matter is you.

To make it simple, there is a thread about you at http://dis.4chan.org/read/prog/1213021438 . This is one of the most popular threads in /prog/ so far. Please note that most of the posters are trolls and some of these troll are virgins and lack discipline. Please do not take most of the post posted there seriously.

On the other hand, a group of serious posters, including me, find this thread irrelivant, annoying and/or discriminating. We try to sage ( in english: to lower ) the thread without great success. But as you seem to be popular, please consider doing something.

Please, post in the thread and tell the people to move on, become a little more serious in the programming discussion and let the thread die. As reading the thread I have discovered that some of the people posting in the thread also lack serious communication and contact with the opposite gender and lack the guts to write you a simple e-mail, e.g. this. If you choose not to post in the thread, please consider atleast answering this e-mail, so I can forward it to the board. A reply as soon as possible would be great.

If you are going to post in the thread, please create a secure tripcode, so we can indentify you as Leah Culver and not as a troll or another poster. A secure tripcode is a form of authentication. Please read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tripcode .

The format of a tripcode is as follow [your name or nickname]##[the code you want to use]
The output is as follows [your name or nickname]!![a hash]
For example if I wrote the following in the name field: sage##sage
The output name and hash would be: sage!!SOJTvLiutsP
This can only be used in the name field. The rest of the fields are obvious.

If you have read this mail, then I thank you for your time. I hope that you will do something about this issue and again don't take the thread too seriously.

    Sincerely, Anonymous from the 4chan.org BBS-board, /prog/ - Programming.

Dear Leah Culver,

I've been thinking long and hard about making this post, so go easy on me. I find you kind of cool, and think that we could be good friends given enough time. I enjoy programming FIOC (this stands for ``Forced Indentation Of Code'' -- a cutesy term for Python created by us /prog/ers) just like you, and I think that we could team up to create some of the best software in the world, and perhaps we could even become boyfriend/girlfriend.

I've never really done this before, so I don't know how to say it, but, will you go out with me? I live far away right now, but I'm willing to move for you.

Leah Culver is seriously up there with the Sussman. Think about it: They both are very fuckable, despite minor problems (acne scars, balding), and they both create revolutionary software (Pownce, The Algorithmic Language Scheme).

In 50 years, Leah Culver will be written about in history books.

Hello everyone, today I was reading SICP, and the similarity between magic and computer science struck me. Just as a magician can weld great power by speaking the language the of gods to bring down fire and lightning, we programmers can herd thousands and millions like slaves with the right lines of codes. Such power to be weld solely through intellect exist nowhere else.  With the right lines of codes, we can cripple nations and conquer the world. Such magnificent power, I must read more SICP.

WTF, are you stupid or what? Girly girls with their m(f)ake-up, dancing, shopping and other disgusting girly stuff, as well as flirting, prick-teasing and being unsincere bitches are the shit. Very few actually have a brain, and a geek girl would be an awesome finding.

The choice isn't only between geek and airhead. I'd rather have an intelligent and cultivated girl who doesn't use make-up, loves horse-riding, archery, books, does not watch TV or use computers, and is in a good shape from being often outdoors, than date a pasty geek girl who'd bore me with FIOC/myfacebook2.0/iphones or whatever the superficial shit of the day is.

That's why Chikane-chan is mai waifu. Why can't 3D girls be like this? ;_;

Name: Anonymous 2008-08-25 1:46

I like coding, but it's already my job and I don't want to hear about it when the day's over. I find that geeks often dedicate a huge part of their lives to something (eg: computers, or animu) and neglect everything else, which is why I'd rather have a girl that doesn't care about tech to balance for myself.

I read /prog/ for entertainment mostly, and because it makes me see obscure but interesting languages and methodologies. Also I secretly wish to be the Sussman.

Name: Anonymous 2008-08-25 9:13

>>711
Oh, so you want her to be outdoors and keep a good shape for when you're back home from your fulfilling Computing Science job to fuck her in the ass? If she's smart, she'll want to have a life of her own too. And smart yields geek, in Anonymous' opinion.

And the FIOC is not superficial >_< It's all about wrapping cudders in syntax and some of Guido's brain farts, really.

That's not SBmb, it's seeing the maximum amount of garbage Shiichan will serve in one sitting. Over 12MB, apparently. Failure modes include empty answers (for very large raw sizes) and "forbidden" errors (apparently for excessive number of quoted posts/ranges). Also, it gets slow. feels good man ;)

That a 20 something can afford a place in SF says she has more money than she's making on her own; and is thus a trust fund baby.

She also has an Old Testament Biblical first name.

Obviously Leah Culver is JEWS quality.

Reading this thread has been an experience.
I laughed, I cried, I achieved Satori.

But honestly I wanted to comment on the girl with the progsnake have you read your sicp today poster. I think she's the smartest slut I've ever seen. Way smarter than this L. Culver slag that you all are on about (uncluding the metaposting), since this L. Culver is supposedly a supporter of FIOC and FIOC is an idiot's folly.
