To work in CS (95% male sociotards) with everyone in work and community worshipping her, would give her high self-esteem and make her feel good about herself, on the other hand, the need to get attention to feel good about yourself probably shows low self-esteem.
Judging by the scarring on her face, she probably had acne as a teenager and was probably chubby, thus encouraging a geeky personality, and, as happens quite a lot (annoyingly, after you rejected them in high school), became quite attractive as an adult.

Yes, it's probably acne. It logically does not follow that a girl of the following criteria,
1) attractive facial features,
2) attractive body,
3) doesn't have acne and/or other skin condition,
4) not fat,
(one might say that all female computer programmers only full fills three of these conditions)
can become a computer programmer. I hypothesise that it requires low social self-esteem during childhood onwards or during the teen age for a person to become a programmer. Or perhaps I am just projecting.
