Nor impressed.
At least not impressed with that PV itself so far.

The writing has been pretty good so far for Zetsuen no Tempest. I quite enjoy that show. So chances of Yutapon working on ep14 are slim to none I take?

So much sakuga potential

Name: Anonymous 2012-12-07 11:17

well, -monogatari is more about scene composition and special effects than animations (although Bakemonogatari and Nisemonogatari had some very nice animated scenes).

The Nekomonogatari PV has some nice small, subtle animations, so I'm pretty sure it will look fantastic but is not a show for an thread about animation.

I dunno if I should be happy or sad Noriko Takao isn't with KyoAni anymore. If nothing else, her upcoming movie looks quite good:

Shin Sekai #11 was rather nice, I think they managed to capture the feel episodes 1-4 had. The animation wasn't amazing or anything, but there were a lot of movements in the episode, which was really nice. Can't wait for Ishihama next week.

A very old blog post by Shoko Ikeda (from 2004)

I have no special topic to tell you today, so I will tell you about my job.

Could you imagine what a "sakuga-kantoku" do?
Sakuga-kantoku is usually translated as "model director" or "director of models" in English .
But, "sakuga" originally means "drawing pictures" in English, therefore they became being called "animation director" recently.

When people hear "drawing animation", most of them would imagine the pictures. But, in this industry, "drawing animation" means "making characters acting".
People usually seem to think that an animation director's job is "correcting characters' faces (and bodies and so on)". But, what he/she exactly does is "correcting the quality of animation pictures".

Recently, when we make a TV series, we often appoint somebody to a post of the chief animation director, who correct the character models through every episode of it.
I think that fan of animation seem to want for us to be careful about "faces" of characters these days.
What do you think about such a situation ?

If you read this diary, you may think that I dislike my job, which is only making characters" faces similar to the original. But, I truly like my job. It is my pleasure because it is so enjoyable.

Recently, our key animators' skill has been really getting improved and I don't have to correct their pictures not so much like before.
(This is what I wanted to tell you in this diary!)

don't get too excited. Technically, Guilty Crown started out strong as well and then got worse and worse.

No Ishihara and Ikeda. Maybe for OVA?

What in the actual fuck!? I can already sense them not handling the OVA as well.

Possibly Haruhi S3?
