The hour late, outside it's dark
You better stay inside now
Or you may get caught in my wrath
And I will send the demons
You'll run but you cannot hide
And I will send all my minions
To haunt you ...
Only evil dreams you'll find
Evil deamons by their side
Howling winds, outside it's cold
You better lock your doors now
Or you may be held by the foul
And I will send the demons
You'll run but you cannot hide
And I will send all my minions
To haunt you ...
Only evil dreams you'll find
Evil deamons by their side
You took my heart
So I'll take yours
Only evil dreams you'll find
And demons by their side
I will send the the demons
And I will send all my minions
The hour's late, outside it's evil
You better stay inside now
Or you will be caught by the foul
And I will send the demons
You'll run but you cannot hide
And I will send all my minions
To haunt you ...
Only evil dreams you'll find
Evil deamons by their side
1. MILKRIBS4k
Should stick to /lounge/. A good troll, but not-programming related. He's an anus! 2. FrozenVoid (original)
Made me fuqin rage when I tried to talk to him. Then I tried again. Then I didn't see his posts. 3. FrozenVoid (current)
Didn't see him. 4. Anonymous
Made me rage when trying to implement streams in Haskell. Also, your/you're. 5. RMS Mike Shuttleworth
JOEN ASS NAO AN SHAER DA SOFTWA YOU BE FREE HACKAR YOU BE FREE 6. The Abelson
What?
>>21 I don't care if you label me either. >>1 The difference between 2. FrozenVoid (original) and 3. FrozenVoid (current)
Is that i don't use a tripcode right now and people try to imitate me.
If you don't know which is the real FrozenVoid: Its your problem.

When you look at the whole life of the planet, we - you know, man - has only been around for a few blinks of an eye. So if the infection wipes us all out... that is a return to normality.

Why yes trolls abound! Im glad im not on that list! Forsooth!
My face upon looking at this thread: ( ´_ゝ`)
Gentlemen, /prog/'s Eternal September is here. And I for one, have no choice but to welcome our new overlords. It's official, 4chan's IRC channel is the last bastion of non-infection (mostly). Although that too is running out of time me thinks.

I prefer to be true to myself, even at the hazard of incurring the ridicule of others, rather than to be false, and to incur my own abhorrence.
They are hiding in these channels:
#4chan at rizon
irc.freenode.org/#sicp
irc.efnet.org #sicp
irc.choopa.net #sicp

...and that if one steps back into abstracted considerations derived without respect to such concerns, an understanding of the qualities of musical uniqueness will continue to be suppressed in favor of generalizations, which at best evoke a vague sense of what a piece may be doing, perhaps in common with some other pieces, but not what one piece is doing, all by itself.
The real problem about troll awards is that we do not agree on which kind of troll we want to reward. Do we want to reward trolls that amuse us, and are therefore inefficient, or trolls that annoy us, and as such, are actually efficient?
As I troll /prog/ for the refined entertainment of my colleagues in the first category, I'll obviously give the award to Anonymous.
Who will we have present the award? GJS can't make it and Leah is too busy preparing for the post-award orgy.

The Xarn, obviously.

The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong in the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry.
I will be voting based on humorous "trolling" (aka bad trolling), as I value laughing much more than I value the ability to troll effectively.
1. MILKRIBS4k
Too new, but is hilarious. If ever a troll deserved an award, I believe this troll is the one that should get it. DQ on account of DQN qualiy.
2. FrozenVoid (original)
Effective at trolling, but did not amuse me.
3. FrozenVoid (current)
More same fag than you'd like to believe. His BLAG posts verify this.
4. Anonymous
A+ sometimes, F- other times. C# still others.
5. RMS Mike Shuttleworth
Eh. Grab bag. Not very humorous.
6. The Abelson
Dunno.
I think you also forgot Randall, although his trolling is rarely amusing. Overall, I must go with Anonymous.
2. FrozenVoid (original) 3. FrozenVoid (current)? Why? Why you insist there is difference?
Except for few posters pretending to be me(which is insignificant) its me posting under my own name.
I guess people need to see tripcodes.

Some would ask, how could a perfect God create a universe filled with so much that is evil. They have missed a greater conundrum: why would a perfect God create a universe at all?

*sigh* Do I have to edit the /prog/ fixer every two weeks? First no trip, then Mr. Anus, then another tip, god damn.

Just edit it to include a list of names to remove, then one can change that oneself as one sees fit.
>>46 Normally i wanted to use tripcodes to verify my identity. This didn't work before.
I would expect mods get into a temper tantrum someday again and i'll have to change tripcodes(again..).
Now, I might say, when posting with tripcode, i'm feeling secure that people don't randomly post garbage with may name
and i could invest more time in posting instead of talking to clones(as of now, they all can't use anything that silly as masquerading under my name).
Trolling history question:
There was a guy that made a script that blocked all anonymous posts, claiming that when someone doesn't have an identity, his opinion is worth nothing, or such bullshit. Does anyone recognise him?
>>51 Thats was only for /g/ since it had a (small)tripfriend community formed.
It teached them a lesson, isn't? All their "i block u, becuz u use trip" turned against them.

There are periods in the life of human society when revolution becomes an imperative necessity, when it proclaims itself as inevitable.
>>54 Indeed. The whole board went crazy and mods banned me each 30 seconds.

>>55 *note; not really each 30 seconds, just as soon as post was seen by mods. >>51 I have this script in archives still. Of course, i don't need to use it, since i can perfectly ignore posts i don't like to answer. It just proves a point: for every censorship of a group, there is a counter-censorship method(segregation and separation).
Blocking people you don't like is easy, but you ruin the context and settings of thread(i.e. removing vital points from conversation tree) and repairing it requires unblocking the posts you "don't want to know, but want to know about".

One day, I actually removed all but FV's posts. It was less amusing than I had thought.

The fact that we are I don't know how many millions of people, yet communication, complete communication, is completely impossible between two of those people, is to me one of the biggest tragic themes in the world.

Because that's like leaving the punchline but removing the joke (or maybe the other way around, i dunno).
>>57
It hardly counts as censorship. Using a script to hide your posts is the same as a dieter removing all the unhealthy food from their fridge. It just removes the temptation to reply to you as I'm doing just now :(
>>61
I've recognized the futility in answering his posts after some time after he first showed up. I don't want to waste any more time replying to his posts. Everyone should just do the same.
>>62 'futility'? If you thought of trolling me it will indeed will be futile, or even traumatizing.
Trolls just can't handle exploratory discourse on my level. Its like Vogon music to them.

In hatred as in love, we grow like the thing we brood upon. What we loathe, we graft into our very soul.
>>62 Its self-censorship. You actually censoring your mind from undesirable content.
I hope you realize completely censoring someone requires much more then a script.

It requires great courage to look and judge oneself honestly and forge one's own path.
