You're not helping. But, on the other hand, why should you? You like to wallow in the shit /prog/ turned to, don't you?

Imagine a giant penis flying towards your mouth, and there's nothing you can do about it. And you're like "Oh man, I'm gonna have to suck this thing", and you brace yourself to suck this giant penis. But then, at the last moment, it changes trajectory and hits you in the eye. You think to yourself "Well, at least I got that out of the way", but then the giant penis rears back and stabs your eye again, and again, and again. Eventually, this giant penis is penetrating your gray matter, and you begin to lose control of your motor skills. That's when the giant penis slaps you across the cheek, causing you to fall out of your chair. Unable to move and at your most vulnerable, the giant penis finally lodges itself in your anus, where it rests uncomfortably for 4, maybe 5 hours. That's what using /prog/ is like.
I'm kinda curious, please tell why you mention 4-ch.net in your posts?
No, wait I know. I mentioned that I hate advertisers so you probably think I'm going to go to 4-ch and spam it. Well, sorry faggot but I've been browsing 4-ch for a long time too. I'm not a fucking moron. Your trolling tactiques are weak.
#sicp is the most worthless irc channel ever. there's like six people there and it's roughly the irc equivalent of /prog/, but without any of the rare intellectual humor that makes /prog/ awesome.

Yes. I started that channel and stopped joining when I realised it wasn't actually good, at all. Bunch of anime weirdos. I prefer it when you're anonymous, [b][o][u][i]EXPERTS[/i][/u][/o][/b], at least then you can say you were just trolling.
You ignorant fools. In promoting this obsessive behaviour about (an actually very good) computer science text, and developing a cult-like mentality about it, you've lowered it into the mire of unscientific mindless following. You're all disgusting fanboys. SICP is not Cracky-chan, do not make it so.

”However, when a verb is negated by not or never, and is followed by a verb phrase that is also to be negated (but not an entire clause), either or or nor can be used: He will not permit the change, or (or nor) even consider it.”[1]

Your mistake was "no" you stupid faggot. It should've been "not".
Take my god damn suggestion. Learn English.

The ``no'' was a typo; there was nothing to critique. Your criticism was of my use of ``or''. That criticism was invalid. Enjoy your bucket of fail.
>>99
Oh, I see you cannot comprehend English either. Regardless, your sentence is still invalid, typographic error or not.
That means that whether you made a typo or not does not affect my observation, that your sentence is invalid.
What you posted in >>99 was not the sentence in >>88.
Dolt, dunce, imbecile, cocksuckermotherfuckerdicklicker.

I hate it when people use ``critique'' as a verb. It just sounds like a noun :(
>>102
I thought about it, myself, after posting. ``Criticise'' would have been better. ``Critique'' is valid as a verb, but sounds less verb-sh, agreed.

It's really which editor you use first that you stick with.

This was my hypothesis, yes. It might be true, it might not.
That is a spectacularly banal point. Torture your mind
Ideas of torture, yes. Hmm, yes. Signs of serious problems. Consider therapy promptly, friend.

Interesting point, I have recently been considering trying out vim because Emacs makes my fingers hurt. There are just a couple things that I really like about Emacs that I would desire; buffers and some other things. I can't think of others right now. Buffers springs to mind, though. ido-mode is glorious for switching buffers.
If your fingers hurt, I suggest a visit to your doctor as well as changing workplace.

I've actually ordered a good keyboard. My membrane keyboard has had it and I use it some 12 hours a day doing my day-to-day computer stuff. I've ordered a Model M with buckling spring keys. Very good for the fingers, they are.
It updates as you type. To switch to the `ghci' buffer I would press C-x b RET. To switch to the `config.pl' buffer, I would type C-x b con RET. You get the idea.
>>120
Have you thought that maybe you're typing wrong? Are you one of those people who types C-f with one hand and forgets to use the mouse?

forgets to use the mouse
Fail.

Well, I don't use the mouse with Emacs, I use it from the console. I use opposite hands for key combinations. I.e. for C-x I use left Ctrl. I think it's a combination of typing all day, a crappy old membrane keyboard, and that I probably do type incorrectly. I never learned to touch type properly. I can type at 90wpm but my finger positioning is not correct. I think I'll spend some time learning to touch type properly... I've been putting it off until my new keyboard arrives... My fingers have only started to hurt in the past few months which is why I'm questioning Emacs and my keyboard. Well, I'll find some info. about touch typing and learn.

This channel seems to be gone. Is there a newer /prog/ hangout where we can all idle and never talk to each other because we're all awkward neckbeards?

There are several. The EFNet one moved to a different network, but it still exists, and is still the largest one. Rizon has #bbcode for the language connoisseur, and #/prog/ for the /b/tard-pretending-to-be-programmer. There used to be a bunch of other ones, but I'm pretty sure they all died.
