Fellow /prog/rammers. By now, you have witnessed, or are in the process of witnessing, the downfall of what was once a beautiful arena of knowledge. Forced memes, 13-year old script kiddie wannabes and RuneScape players are just a few of the beings destroying our arena. We must take it back.
Any suggestions?

>Any suggestions?
1. Use tripcodes. Read your favorite posters. Ignore anonymous.
2. Go to Usenet. It ain't dead yet.
3. Start your own damn board and program it however you like.
Copy serious business there. Get Google Ads. Profit.
4. Leave and never look back. It's a big, big Internet out
there.
5. IRC. Already lots of programmer channels.
6. Mailing lists. Already lots of programmer lists.
7. Give in. 2chan is the oldest of these anonymous boards, and
it proved that anonymous, unmoderated boards turn to crap
over time. Coming here is like digging through the garbage
dump. You may find something good, but probably not, and
it will be a lot of work either way.

what you /prog/ers need to understand is that /prog/ can be serious from times to times, but we're here for the lulz.
Seriously when i come here i expect for a post to make my day, not to give me material to work for another 12 hours (although that happends occasionally -- like that guy who worked for microsoft and leaked close-sourced code here in /prog/)

1. Log in to IRC
2. /server [whatever]
3. /join #prog
4. Ask question
5. Wait 20 years
6. No response
7. IRC sucks
8. NO PROFIT TODAY SIRS

What lulz? Where is one funny thing in here?
Post a link. I dare you.
I see. You're an idiot. No wonder you like it here.

I completely agree with you expect that OP is exactly right: /prog/ has been horribly crappy for the last week or so. There's nothing LULlable about ``I LISTEN TO INFECTED MUSHROOM WHILE I WRITE JAVA BECAUSE I AM 1337'' and there has been a huge flood of skript kiddie threads lately.
7chan has a programming imageboard at http://lol.7chan.org/pr/ which is mostly a bunch of script kiddies who think they're the shit because they're level 70 in warcraft and can write mirc scripts. Plus tj9991 (think Trevorchan) is a mod there. Need I go on?
Then there's this: http://sovietrussia.org/code/ - but it's pretty much fucking deserted. It at least has code, though...
So yeah, what >>33 said. http://4-ch.net/code/ really is a good place for actual discussion about programming, albeit maybe a bit stuck-up sometimes, and suffers from not enough people.
