So, I've been reading Hitler quotes...

I'm no racist and I don't understand what's his problem with Jews, Slavs and people who paint skies green and fields blue, but goddamn, that was an awesome man. They don't make politicians like that anymore. He wanted to create a new world, a new human race. All you can expect from contemporary politicians is that they want to raise or decrease taxes by 0.6%. Maybe it's just the times we live in. Stalin and Churchill were pretty cool too. Roosevelt otoh was pretty lame.

This is the problem.  We spent too many years following charismatic geniuses and have finally learned that too often they become monsters. Now we're afraid, so we dole out part time jobs to ambitious middle managers.  They have to be charismatic, but not too charismatic, because that requires personality.  They have to have a plan, but they can't have a vision.  But it's safer that way.  At least for now.

It's worthless deluded idealists such as yourselves that start wars and get everyone killed for nothing. Have you ever considered the possibility that what we have now is pretty close to utopia? We live in a country where the minimum wage is 50 times higher than that of a medieval peasant and we start crying whenever a terrorist gets sent to guantanamo when in the past he and everyone who happened to be near him at the time would have been horrifically tortured to death without even a show trial.

Name: Anonymous 2009-08-21 2:48

War (and rape) are part of natural behaviour for humans. To deny this is to deny our humanity. We live in "utopia", but as the number of war dead decreases, so increases the number of suicides. If we can't use violence against other, we will use violence against ourselves.

While we may not all agree with his opinions there is not doubt that Hitler was one of the greates speakers ever.

Pretty close to utopia!?!  Well I guess that depends on your values.  I would think that the first qualification for a utopia would be freedom; the ability to voluntarily participate, or to walk away.  But we can't walk away anymore.  There is literally no place left to go.  Those of us lucky enough to live in the developed western nations live in a gilded cage that sinks deeper into a Huxleyan distopia everyday.

This is the finest post I've read in /newpol/ in quite some time. I completely agree. Almost everything and nearly everyplace is so saturated with hedonistic garbage and fake pearly smiles.

It distracts the population and it's no wonder why the majority of them are so complacent and simpleminded. Those of us clever enough to see past the charade seem to suffer even greater than the people this machine consumes; it's like gasping for fresh air trying to live.

The Western World is truly the world's largest, sinking, ship. We're on the course for doom provided if this current course is not reversed.

It is the end of an epoch.  Digital scripture is being written.

The most Influential man of the 20th century hands down.

Think about it. It's now 64 years after his death, and just speaking his name in public can be shocking to most.

Try it sometime. See what people say.

Most politicians of now can only dream of having that status. Intended or not.

Pretty much, we have an infinite desire for wealth and pleasure and as a result there are many who feel the need to whine incessantly because they are never fully satisfied and don't understand that complete satisfaction is physically impossible. They're like the little chihuahua on "the dog whisperer" that thinks it's the alpha male and won't stop yapping even when it's given everything the owner can think of. They need boundaries and limitations set by a superior enlightened class.

>THE SKY IS FALLING
Yeah, I've heard that story too, the trouble is I didn't see Chicken Little as the hero.

I find it funny that a white middle class teenager in a 1st world country believes they can't "walk away" and that in the past most people could. You can do whatever the fuck you want, a single mother on minimum wage with 3 kids can't walk away, most in the 3rd world don't have the financial security to walk away without facing serious risk of starvation and disease, a black person 50 years ago wasn't allowed to do shit, political prisoners in China and Iran aren't even allowed to walk in daylight once a day, with a little time and work you could become a survivalist in Nebraska, or start a cult and move to Guatemala, there's no one stopping you and you have more material resources to do so than anyone else in the world. It's kind of arrogant to think that decadence will be end of us all and we are somehow victims because we are so wealthy.

A "huxleyan" dystopia won't occur anyway if not due to the fact that humanity is too diverse to be stratified in that way but due to peak oil, global warming and overpopulation, which incidentally won't kill us all, it will just make us poorer.

Name: Anonymous 2009-08-22 1:42

If peak oil happens alternative fuels will find a market. Or electric powered autos. And a "huxleyan" dystopia is happening right now. Granted it's in its nascent stages. Even the author of Brave New World himself before his passing had been amazed at how the world around him was becoming more and more like as depicted in his book.

The sky is not falling but, the American empire and the rest of the Western World is heading that way.

>>8 here.  Excellent post.  I agree with almost everything you say.  But you saw my post as a warning, when it was a eulogy to freedom.  I am a white, middle class, middle aged man who has stood upon the four corners of the Earth.  I am humbled and grateful for the privileges and advantages I have been afforded.  But I am bound. I want what my forebearers had:  The opportunity to create a new world.  Terra Nova.
I do not see the sky falling, but the sun rising.  Because Humanity is not that diverse. And it becomes increasingly less so every day as information suffuses this world.  In the mean, global warming and overpopulation are already killing.  And our society is already, in part, a self fulfilled Huxleyan dystopia.  And until we begin to effectively address these issues, I can't have my new world.

Name: Anonymous 2009-08-22 10:06

Just out of interest, what human flaws do you have that contribute to this downfall of mankind?

Name: Anonymous 2009-08-22 10:15

>>13
Alternative fuels are more expensive, they will only find a market because crude oil will get expensive. Even if we develop cold fusion and descend back into decadence again I doubt we will ever reach those extremes because there is no causal link between reality and the Huxley dystopia.

All of them, and perhaps one or two of my own devising.  I've always been particularly gluttonous and slothful.  I think that will sound familiar to many members of this community.  I believe my "human flaws" and the way they manifest themselves are consistent with, and part of something we can call Affluent Society Syndrome.  Prior to the mid 19th century there were some successful, if unrefined treatments for the negative consequences of this condition. Exile and transportation.  But like the ability to walk away, exile and transportation aren't an option right now because all the land of this world has been gobbled up by Nationalism.
I do not see a "downfall of mankind" though.  I see us reaching a point where even the most humble, having been exposed to the wealth of information so many have fought so hard to build, will found an information society, founded like all new societies, on a few simple and elegant truths.

Name: Anonymous 2009-08-25 7:08

Again you're saying we can't walk away when we can. Can you explain what's stopping you from becoming a survivalist or whatever? If starbucks, SUVs and modern media are so horrible why do you keep living that lifestyle? Most normal people do not suffer from affluent society syndrome and simply enjoy their wealth without letting it corrupt them, from what I've seen all those trailer/ghetto trash retards are less wealthy and very few rich people are fuck ups like Jocelyn Wildenstein or Michael Jackson.

Also the idea that early 19th century Britain was affluent is absurd. The people deported were petty criminals, they were not obese aspergers manchilds, most of them were driven to crime to support themselves exactly because they were not affluent.

Name: Anonymous 2009-08-25 20:57

And where can we walk away to?  Where is there a single piece of arable land unaccounted for?  Nowhere.  Because the first thing the Nationalist system requires an accounting and division of the land so that it may then exploit its resources and/or found it's economic framework.  A "survivalist or whatever?"?  I don't want to be a survivalist.  I don't just want to survive, I want to live, free.  "...why do you keep living that lifestyle?"  You think I have an SUV and go to Starbucks?  Or anything similar? Look, you don't know anything about my lifestyle, and I don't know anything about yours.  Folks here sure are comfortable creating information out of thin air.  Too bad it's usually incorrect and hampers the exchange of facts.
Most normal people do not suffer from affluent society syndrome and simply enjoy their wealth without letting it corrupt them...
What I called Affluent Society Syndrome must be understood from a sociological perspective.  Read some Toynbee, realize that when one allows themselves to be a part of a corrupt system that they are fairly called corrupt, and read some British history.  Though the 19th century was the century the Empire fell, to say that it was not still an affluent society is wrong.
You seem to want to argue, and that's okay with me, but I expect you to think about what you really know, and don't know before posting.  As it stands you just seem like another slave to me, wanting to show me how pretty his chains are, and telling me I'm a jerk 'cause I don't want a set just like 'em.  It's sad.  'Cause we can do so much better.

That's your fault, you haven't given me anything except the empty platitude "derp i want to live free". Do you have some kind of practical definition of "free"? Many survivalists pay no tax and are pretty much outside police jurisdiction. Why isn't this free?

The British empire didn't fall in the 19th century, it fell in the mid 20th century and it wasn't due to self-destruction but because the natives had caught up technologically and economically and no longer needed a protectorate.

Name: Anonymous 2009-08-27 19:00

My fault eh?  and "I want to live free" is an "empty platitude"?
For the record, I provided a practical definition in my first post in this thread at  >>8 when I said "freedom; the ability to voluntarily participate, or to walk away."  Here's a dictionary definition: the condition of being free; the power to act or speak or think without externally imposed restraints.  Is this really how you feel?  There's nothing necessarily wrong with that, but the truth is that there are a great many externally imposed restraints bearing on you, and though they may be consistent with your interests and own personally imposed restraints, they bear nonetheless.  There are people who feel these restraints acutely.  Particularly now.

Nations grown corrupt
Love bondage more than liberty;
Bondage with ease than strenuous liberty.
~John Milton

And here we are.  Again.  The proliferation of humanity has been the result of two forces, the physical effort to secure and control resources, and the intellectual and spiritual drive for freedom.  In meeting these two needs existing societies expand and new societies are created.  Civilizations rise and fall feeding new civilizations.  On and on it goes, and at the bottom of it all there are people saying "Free my ass!  This ain't free!"
That's the kind of freedom [i]I'm]/i] talking about.  Survivalists don't "pay no tax", they avoid taxes.  Just like they avoid everything in the world, painfully aware of the fact that if they come up on the radar, the FBI's gonna burn 'em out.
Perhaps when you asked for a "practical definition of freedom you meant to ask, what is it exactly that I want to do, but cant.  Well, that's a little more complicated.  I'll say that it involves reminding people that they aren't free, and that we can do better.

Sorry but "i want to live free" came across like "diversity is strength" or "yes we can", it's an empty platitude because it doesn't really explain anything.

So apparently living in an egalitarian 1st world democracy isn't free because you have to pay tax and being a survivalist who legally owns land, does not sell produce and pays no property tax isn't free. What is your definition of free then?

Diversity is strength faggot. The more diversity there is the better chances for survival and changes in evolution and more options and genetic variation. Monocultures nearly always fail. Diversity is the genetic victor every time.

Thriving?

What was the violent crime rate in, for example, New York City in 1900?  And what was it in 2000?

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-05 19:03

>>29

Yes, thriving. 1900 had high crime rates in poverty areas, and they were pretty much all white. Also crime rates go up because there are more people now than in 1900. Are you retarded or will crime not go up with more population?

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-05 19:16

Oddly enough, the overall violent crime rates in the US and Canada rose 600% between 1900 and 2000, almost all of this after 1965.

I wonder why that is.

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-05 19:19

It's called "higher poverty rates" and "more drugs and anti-government sentiments". The 1960s was a time of "Radicalism". People used more drugs and were against the government more than ever before. So obviously crime rates would go much higher. Also do you have a source for the crime rates going higher? I would like to see it.

Name: Anonymous 2009-09-05 19:29

http://www.benbest.com/lifeext/murder.html

Murder rates overall for the US in 1900 was one per 100,000.  In 2000, approximately six per 100,000.  In some locations much higher, and the higher the proportion of niggers in the population of a city, the greater the violent crime rate is, invariant of size, without exception.

Oh, and also,

>>And non of those are around anymore.

Read Mein Kampf OP?
Let's compare Nationalsocialism with communism in a non biased way. Both are similar in that they both demand all the privately owned society functions to be handed over to the state.

Karl Marx was a man who believed that the root of all the worlds problems where because of the human tendency to own and profit, the wealth needed to be divided to everybody so that everyone could be happy. All of his writings completely ignore the concept of a happy poor person(watch, it's a wonderful life), this is because he was jewish and as we all know it's in the genes of jews to be colossal materialists and jews cannot be happy without lots of material wealth, he made the arrogant assumption that everyone was just as materialistic as the jews because he had grown up jewish and did not know any other way of living.

Hitler and other nationalsocialists believed that the root of all the worlds problems where in the genetic structure of certain citizens, mostly the jews.

But who was right? All communist states have been complete catastrophes internally, germany however enjoyed large quantities of social security and general welfare after hitler came to power.
