Fascism

Are we all under a fascist world order?

Can fascism truly work, with everyone being under intense rules?
Enforcable - how? Excessive CCTV, secret police, agencies, euthanasia, racial and national segregation, eugenics, etc..?

Fascism! yay!

Some western countries like UK already are and since 911 there have been several efforts to turn EU and US into fascist wonderland in the name of counter-terrorism.

Oh right. You single out the UK but leave out the fact that US has been in the same pod for a while already. Secret phone tappings anyone?

Difference between UK and US is the target. In US "secret" surveillance targets certain "suspects", but not a lot of them. In UK they target whole population. Not that neither is acceptable or good thing.

Hang on, how exactly do they target in UK? Just because they hae tons of CCTV doesn't make them fascists. They still have their privacy at home etc. Name me one thing that makes UK fascist. UK doesn't have ridiculous detention for terrorism suspects either. They recently voted against a bill to allow suspects to be help for 3 months without charge. Also, it's common knowledge that US uses the patriot act outside purposes of couterterrorism.

Anyway, according to Cambridge Dictionary

Fascism   Show phonetics
noun [U]
a political system based on a very powerful leader, state control and extreme pride in country and race, and in which political opposition is not allowed

This makes the U.S. more fascist than UK

CCTV, internet censorship, movie censorship, rumors of internet data retention and very strict unnecessary laws for "public safety". That's just few things. Not really fascist, but an ugly police state by all means, but it's true that sadly US is moving to same direction.

internet censorship? please elaborate
movie censorship? please elaborate. it's common knowledge that most european countries and UK have a more liberal stance towards swearing and nudity than U.S. For example blood removed from anime. guns exchanged with toys. (one piece) etc.

Internet data retention? elaborate.
strict unnecessary laws? elaborate. I can't think of one thing (except guns)you can't do in UK that you can do in U.S.

US doesn't have federal agency that controls distribution of movies. UK does and they cut them too. Ugly business. As for internet censorship operators are required to block certain "child porn" sites. Not a big deal, but it's still censorship and who knows what they really block?

US has lot of "censorship", but it's not govermental. Big difference.

>As for internet censorship operators are required to block certain "child porn" sites. Not a big deal, but it's still censorship and who knows what they really block?

Haha, oh wow. You know the same argument can be applied to the U.S or virtually any other country out there.

Ok so that makes your claims of

internet censorship
internet data retention
strict unnecessary laws

go out the windows.

And here comes the killer. You claim UK has a "federal" agency that distributes movies. WRONG

Here is the site of BBFC (British Board of Film Classification)
http://www.bbfc.co.uk/

if you go to "about bbfc" it says.
"The British Board of Film Classification is an independent, non-governmental body, which has classified cinema films since it was set up in 1912, and videos since the passing of the Video Recordings Act in 1984."

The key word being "non-govermental, and independent".

So far, you haven't been able to give a single valid point as to why you think UK is fascists.

Try again.

I don't know about other things, but he is right about movies. Not that BBFC is govermental, but it's required by law that all movies distributed in UK have to be ratified by BBFC. BBFC has also very strict policy on sex and violence. Film bans and cuts are ugly truth in UK.

Don't change these.
