Traitorgate & Carl Rove

Name: Anonymous 2005-07-22 5:04

There's an old saying:  "A fish stinks from the head down".
So does this.
/background/
America is at War.  A Legaly Declared State of War.  And in a time of War someone screwed the CIA out of the front company that Ms. Plame "worked for" and compromised multiple cases.  The CIA asked for a criminal investigation.
/now/
All fingers point to Carl Rove and Robert Novak.  In fact those two are pointing at each other.  It's strangely like /b/, but I digress.

My point is that Rove looks like a source but to borrow a line I remember well:  "What did the President know--and when did he know it?

The law is clearcut--and in time of War, severe.  You get to chose, hanging or the needle.  So, how high does this go and how hard do they have to come down on this?

money trumps connections, and connections trump the letter of the law-the end.

A Legaly Declared State of War.

WTF? Congress never declared war.

Name: Anonymous 2005-07-23 9:47

haha what

did you miss when they spent 2 days debating wether to invade iraq or not because of it's "imminent danger", and that our evidence that they had WMDs was a "slam dunk"?

Congress has not officially declared war since World War Two.  All that congress has done since that time has been to authorize 'police action' or military action, short of a formal, actual declaration of war.  One need not declare war on a country; the constitution can be read as granting the power to declare war on any hostile group or persons.  Immediately following 9/11, I said that the United States should formally declare war on Al-Qaeda. (and knew that they wouldn't).  Perhaps they had exactly these sorts of dirty tricks in mind in their reticience to set up a formal wartime...

Respectfully, semantics rarly sway a jury.  "Military Action" equals "War" in the common mind.  And Iraq is not several Army "tourists" that got caught in a firefight.

I agree about the dirty tricks

That Carl Rove took it upon himself to do this is doubtful.  The Special Proscecutor (sic) is looking at the following people, among others in no special order:

Condi
Colin Powell
Dick Cheney
George Bush
Etc

So let's place our bets.
The last time this happened, the Vice President "Swung Slowly in the Wind" for something unrelated (Bribery when he was Gov of 'Jersey).  That's my pick.  Uncle Dick--because I don't believe they tell George anything except what to say.

i agree with 7, i honestly think george is a puppet, and he doesn't care, because hes gonna get a nice fat paycheck when he is booted out of office, or leaves office.

you agree with yourself? how facinating.

i think we should just abandon iraq, let it fail abysmally, and then let the world gripe about how the US could've/would've/should've stayed in Iraq instead of letting it fall to pieces. wouldn't that be great? France and Germany lambasting us for pulling out of Iraq, instead of staying in there and fixing our mistake? Haha. It would be spectacular.

as for declaration of war, according to the Kellogg-Briand Pact, all war (except in self-defense or collective defense) is illegal. Of course, we've long since proven that there were no WMDs in Iraq, therefore the initial reason for a self-defense war is unnecessary. Spreading democracy is not, as far as i'm aware, a viable collective defense tactic (particularly when the neighboring countries seem content to keep their citizens out of the process as much as possible). In fact, what's happening is that MORE terrorists are being "made" due to the deteriorating Middle Eastern of social structure. The ME was better off as a series of dictatorships, that were concerned with each other.. and the US was better off, because they weren't bothering us.

Afghanistan was a separate action, one which was highly necessary for the safety of the US.

Rove's but a fat faggoty tool.
Cheney's the Traitor.
String him up, fuckin necktie party.  After a "fair" tribunal, of course.  The needle's too good for scum like this.  He needs to twitch and feel it.

The Plame case is dead. It was investigated at great length, time, and expense by Congress, and the only person they got was scooter libby. Regardless of your opinion, all the smart people in Congress realize it's a lost cause. just give up.

The Plame case ended like these cases usually end, in that a subordinate takes the blame since he refuses to implicate his superiors.
FIXED.

In the absence of proof that Rove or Cheney was involved, Scooter is guilty. That's how it works. An opinion that can't be supported by hard evidence does not prevail in the justice system.

Once politicians are safely dead, the hard facts come out and more than make my point.  YOU made no point whatsoever, chanlawyer.

Don't change these.
