I lol when people say "oh, I don't like to see the blood".
Why? Does it make the animal any less dead? If they're going to fag about over their meat, they shouldn't eat it at all.
I can see like, getting a medium or a medium rare if you don't trust the chef, but there's no need to get a well done unless you're eating meat that's possibly infected.
opinions?

Maybe some people just prefer the taste/texture of well-done steak? I myself like it rare, but it never struck me as odd that other people like it differently...

I enjoy rare steaks. I do perfer a burnt steak for going out. Less chance of it being bad.

EATING RARE STEAKS CAUSES SCHIZOPHRENIA

Personally, I don't eat it medium to medium-well. Never really liked it any more or less done than that.

BSE is caused by prions, which are a kind of protein. Cooking the steak well-done won't kill them because they're not alive. The only way to ensure there aren't any is to cook it until it is literally charcoal and all the protein has been totally denatured.

Flavor and texture, mostly. My uncle can't stand the feel of rare steak, but he loves well done or medium rare for those reasons.
I, however, believe that BSE would be a good way to die. It's like a guarantee that a nice, juicy rare steak was among my last meals.

I always order it rare, and the waitress says "Do you mean medium rare?"
Then I fucking stab her.

Most restraunts don't serve rare meat to avoid the possibility of a lawsuit. This has trained most people to think that if a restraunt won't serve something it must be bad. Personally I Don't eat alot of rare beef. This is primarily due to the fact that I am poor and buy rather tough meat that is best when slow cooked over long periods of time, but rare steak is a treat. Make it yourself, b/c restraunts cook the shit out of everything to prevent the chance of lawsuits.
>>12 same. rare all the way. my dad enjoys blue.. that's practically carcass material. then again, rare isn't far away~

medium rare is good beacuse it combines the cooked taste with the blood and their is low risk of infection, aka aids, rofl

Medium well. Savory deliciousness inside, with no pink, and a seared outside to keep it all in.

Blue (the step below rare in "done-ness"). I eat meat rarely, but when I do, it's of high enough quality or in a restaurant good enough for me to go for the rawest choice. Can you order a steak blue in the States?

THE BLOOD IS THE BEST PART!!! the only time i eat a well done steak is when i screw up and overcook it
animals like lions eat raw meat all the time why can't we lol
Really though, rare-medium rare. Flavor and Texture is just so much more pleasing.

It's the same reason there's a setting on the toaster for 'Burn the bread to a fucking crisp'. Some people just like it that way.

I can't eat any meat unless it is fucking black and has been sitting in embers and blazing flames for at least a half an hour.
I'm that way with anything that isnt wheat rice or grain.
Never eat vegetables or fruits.
the "blood" is often referred to as "jus". yes, rare here thanks.

I like my steaks medium rare, just need to sear the outside real nice so it looks a fuckton more delicious.
Plus some A1 sauce... It's that important.

Well-Done, burnt outside. I don't like soft foods, I like cruncy and chewy. Real men prefer tough meals.

Signed, food is always a better eating time if it crunches.

I'm not a fan of pepper steak...or A1-drowned steak, for that matter. Teriyaki is the way to go.
I love medium rare because the meat seems more juicy and tender. EVERY TIME I get well-done, the meat turns out dry, stringy, and generally less appealing. I'm sure there must be a good well-done steak out there, but I haven't had it in all my years of steak-eating.
tried korean raw steak rice bowl. awesome. pure beef goodness. if only they chuck on a whole cutlet of meat, not some whimpy sliced up stuff.

I like my steak cooked to 140F with salt and pepper only. If a steak is cooked properly you do not need any sauce period. It will be moist enough on its own.

je préfère le steak au bleu!!
just kidding. medium for me, thanks. don't like it to be too squishy. and TEAM NO SAUCE all the way. a good steak does not need sauce.
