Where's your favorite place to get BBQ? Not the Tony Roma's corporate crud but the real deal.
There's a place here in Seattle called "Smokin' Petes'. 12 hours in the smoker. Ribs come 3 to a pound. Excellent rub and sauce. The Collard Greens are a meal by themselves. The rest of the sides are average.

Does Chinese BBQ count? I love roast pig and duck. Mmmm. Anyways. Over here, there's this place called LOW BBQ that supposedly has the best BBQ (brisket, ribs, pulled pork) in town. And they're only open one day of the week! Never tried it, though.

They must be good if they can actually afford to run a restaurant only one day per week

hmmm...well for best BBQ i have a different place for different types.
For Brisket - Rudy's BBQ "Worst BBQ in Texas" is their motto
For Sausage and Chicken and a good ol Super Spud - That would be Pokey Joe's
and finaly, for ribs - There is a place somewhere north of Austin in Texas, it was night time and i was about 5 years younger, i dont remember where, but it is a bbq place / dance / gambling place called The Saltlick, I swear, no one goes there for the dancing or the poker, but they stay for that.

Thank you. That's the idea I had about this thread.
I travel. Next time I'm forced to go to Huntsville, AKA Naziville (PaperClip Hollow)--or to Perdition, Texas--I now know where to get a decent meal.

Ever made your own barbecue? It's not hard.
Here, have a free recipe for barbecue sauce, the way I like it (your mileage may vary):
one cup cheap generic ketchup
one cup apple cider vinegar
two heaping tablespoons onion powder
lots of fresh minced garlic, I mean a LOT
half teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes
half teaspoon of black pepper
dash soy sauce
dash Worcestershire sauce
dash Tabasco
Mix well just before use. Works nicely on beef or pork. It is a lot less sweet than most commercial barbecue sauce, with a tart vinegary flavor I personally like. You may like it or not. I do.

Place in San Jose on Bascom called Sam's BBQ. I like to go there whenever I'm with a group of friends and we have little extra cash to spend.
South Carolina, Bessinger's. I've had better bbq elsewhere but this is definitely the best chain bbq I've ever had. The place is kinda wallowing since it's being banned by the naacp, turns out the owner is one of these rebel flag people.
When it comes to local bbq in florida where I live then I go to a little place called the farmer's market. Next to a real farmer market, bbq can be dry but it's still better than pretty much anything else. The cornbread is also the best I've ever had.
