I still don't understand why K used wide lens so much for its scenes. Like...there's a time and place to subvert camerawork tropes and this show clearly didn't give a fuck lol

God I couldn't finish K... It was so fucking horrible. It's like I'm in my CRT days where my screen fucks up and everything's in violet and green.

K's animation was pretty nice, but I get the feeling the show's just trying too hard to look "cool". I'm normally okay with filters and fancy cinematography, I believe that they can enhance a show's visual appeal if done right. In K however, it really is just ab abuse of filters, it's like they didn't put much thought into the art direction and smother nearly everything in blue and green. All that lovely artwork seems covered up by the filters. The fish-eye lens view during the skateboarding part didn't work as well as I hoped too. I guess this show is going to be all about style over substance.

I guess at this rate KyoAni looks to win this season again.

I always thought it was weird that there was no Catsuka link in the OP. Today there's more access to information in English without going through French first but Catsuka played a big part in building the Western sakugafagdom.
