It's not ``lispfish'', it's cdr cadaver.

I don't understand. It's a crappy piece of software for an OS where most programs are written in C. What else did you expect?

Are you asking how the whole "lol C" culture came about to begin with? It's because Lisp and Smalltalk vendors (we could probably blame APL too) failed to produce a quality operating system for commodity hardware.

Guess what ``satori'' means.

Name: Anonymous 2010-10-07 23:29

satori is what the lisp hippies tried to achieve by smoking weed and dropping acid instead of actually doing something useful like coding up an operating system

Didn't they code several?

Name: Anonymous 2010-10-08 0:05

yeah but they forgot where they were and had to start over cuz they went out for munchies at 2am

Name: Anonymous 2010-10-08 1:54

goddamn if lisp hackers could actually do something concrete we could make a kickass operating system.  all we have instead is 300 different ideas for kickass operating systems that will never be implemented.

So what you're saying is that somebody, but definitely not you, should make a kickass operating system?

Before I clicked on this thread I thought your comment was referring to Enlightenment, which would explain why it takes them fucking ten years to get a coherent release build put together.

LispMachine might be an awesome OS, but it wasn't for commodity hardware.

Emacs almost counts, but it's partially written in C (plus emacslisp is shit).

Also the lack of developers developers developers developers
