enlightenment

so I just read on wikipedia that enlightenment (the window manager) is written in C.   How the fuck did we let this happen, /prog/?

Are you asking how the whole "lol C" culture came about to begin with? It's because Lisp and Smalltalk vendors (we could probably blame APL too) failed to produce a quality operating system for commodity hardware.
