Name: Anonymous 2009-10-01 9:37

Well i need help to decide, the choices i have considered(because i have used both) are:
-Codeblocks
-Eclipse CDT

( ゚ ヮ゚) Visual Studio 2008!

Visual Studio, not because of Visual Studio itself, but its wide range of excellent plugins like Visual Assist X, Reshaper, Visual SVN and the likes.

Nope, it's full Cocoa. It has a custom NSTextView doing the back-end.

kdevelop

The only development environment you need is a command line and vi/emacs. Only pussy fags use IDEs.

vi
Be a real programmer and use Acme.

Be a real programmer and use a graphic display

graphic display

One of these things does not belong with the other one.

C++ is a pile of dicks, but I'm forced to use it for a project.  I actually like Qt's own GUI.  I'm writing something that needs to have some semblance of being able to port over to mac/nix in the future, so it works fine.  Normally I'd go with vim or NetBeans.

Name: Anonymous 2009-10-01 16:23

Netbeans here too

Visual Studio,
but only because I hate everything else

Name: Anonymous 2009-10-01 17:16

Who else uses DEVC++?

Name: Anonymous 2009-10-01 17:21

Visual Studio,
but only because I don't really code anything

fixed that for you

Wait, what? Are you implying that Acme is a text-mode program? Be a real programmer and have heard of Acme.

Actually, Visual Studio's debugger is quite god tier. When compared with GDB, it's like the difference between a heaping mound of asses and a heaping mound of pizzas.

Except on C++, whereupon it becomes somewhat shitty because of IntelliSuck.

Name: Anonymous 2009-10-02 1:00

I do, but thats because its enforced by my uni

Name: Anonymous 2009-10-02 1:38

Seconding this. Once you're used to the VS debugger, you will instantly notice what you are missing when going back to another language/GUI.

Name: Anonymous 2009-10-02 1:40

Codeblocks because it's open source !:3

Name: Anonymous 2009-10-02 16:14

Anything else is god-tier compared to GDB.

Name: Anonymous 2009-10-02 16:22

GDB on it's own is pretty bad, but in combination with emacs and M-x gdb, it's actually useable.

That's why I disable IntelliSense and use Visual Assist X instead.

Eclipse CDT, its built on the best programming language for c++
