HP sucks my ass.

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-10 20:39

Oh t3h noes! My shitpile walmart desktop had teh malware and all the system recovery partition managed to successfully do was wipe my HD before erroring out when it tried to reinstall Vista. The dothead on the tech support line says I have to pay them $30 for recovery discs. And all my lolcats and moovies and furry pr0nz are on my second hard drive which I can't hook up to my laptop.

So, how much am I gonna hate Linux, given that I've been using windows for ten years?

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-10 20:50

Congratulations, you've done the world a favour. Please, never get another computer.

I love HP, you can pry my 42S out of my greedy hands for +$300.

From this story we can conclude that Taro and computers just can't get along.

HAHA DISREGARD THAT, I SUCK COCKS

Just found out my uni's computer shop sells proper, non-oem vista installations to students for $10, with an actual physical installation disk and everything.

Btw, Ubuntu's nice I guess, but there's too many windows apps I don't really want to live without. ^_^

o rly? hmmm, well Ubuntu is still < Windows.  It makes me enter my password before I do ANYTHING, it won't let me save to the root directory, and navigating through folders is super slow for some reason.  Plus, file names seem to be case-sensitive, which is pissing me off.

I've been using it for 2 days, and haven't found anything yet that might make me prefer it to windows. :/

Open the terminal and type "Sudo make me a sandwhich". I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

o rly? hmmm, well Windows is still < Mac OS 7. It makes me reboot the system before I do ANYTHING, it won't let me move my cd drive to the trash, and navigating through folders is super slow for some reason. Plus, file types seem to be determined based on the name of the file, which is pissing me off.

YUFF IN HEAL, FURFUG

New things that piss me off about ubuntu:

1) It won't let me sort my files by anything except file name in any other view except 'List View'.
2) Windows-M doesn't show the desktop anymore.  Plus the firefox keyboard shortcuts are all scrambled now. (Ctrl-J should bring up the download window).
3) The Ubuntu version of Mousekeys is useless.

I'm sure I'll come up with other things...  Wait, no I won't!  Next time I'm home I'll be able to install windows again!!!1  \:D/

If I reply to something, I probably want the conversation to continue and be seen by more people, no matter what my reply was (unless I'm trying to insult the thread and ensure its death). Hence why the only people who use sage are trying to kill a thread.

And saging a thread pushes it towards its max reply limit, and makes the preview of the thread meaningless.

i often sage because it's rude to bump a thread up to the top unless you have something atleast moderately interesting to say

And pushing a thread replies it towards its max sageru limit, and makes the meaning of the thread previewless.

I'm concerned that this is a deceptively simple, yet intellectually elaborate troll in an attempt to get us to stop using sage on this board.
