I need to get my head Normalisation so I am asking you guys If I am right here. Is first normalised form where you remove all multi-valued attributes to form a new entity? 2NF is where you remove attributes dependent on one part of the compound key to form a new entity? 3NF is where you look at all the entities present to look for non-key dependicies? Please correct me if I am wrong cause I have a exam in the morning

Sounds like you got a virus.
If I had to guess I would say W32.NORMALISATION.WORM

Unless this is for school, I'd suggest you to forget about normalization. Just have common sense when designing your database. Unnormalized things blow the second you think about them, and you may want to purposefully denormalize something for efficiency, in which case you are fully conscious of what you do.

I'm a professional database applications engineer and I don't even remember what was each normal form about.

If you knew how to read, you'd realize you've missed the point.
He was saying he doesn't remember, not that he doesn't know how to find out. In short, he hasn't had any reason to use that knowledge in a long time. Simple, huh?
