No, you need to remember the instruction sets for every processor on the planet, along with their memory locations, etc., etc.
Assembly is much easier. Probably the easiest language there is.

Perl
If you have a grasp for writing, you can turn an idea into psuedo code. From psuedo code, writing perl is a matter of formatting and using the right words.

FORTRAN. It's the best language to use with either DirectX or OpenGL. It's also easy to learn and there's a ton of information/tutorials on using it to program games/DX/OGL.

You can't tell if it works or not until you have spent 15 minutes looking at it. Maybe it's a perfectly Perl valid ugly hack, or maybe it's just rubbish. You can't tell until you've read the last character.

Brainfuck. There are only like 8 commands and you can do anything with them... it's turing complete !!! It's also platform independent and it lacks any kind of bloat, the smallest compiler is 171 bytes !!!!1
For example:
[ This program prints Sierpinski triangle on 80-column display. ]

Abstraction is a programmer design technique. The idea is that by working with abstract APIs, we can easily modify concrete details within those APIs without major changes within the code.

You left out the most attractive feature: you don't need to know what acceptable pseudocode looks like, you can just make it up as you go along. Magically, it all fits into Perl's omni-grammar.
