/prog/ - Neat little program in Visual J#/Basic

Hello, friends. I'm in a quandrary.

I've downloaded both Visual Basic, and Visual J#, and am thinking of making the following stuff:

An auto-picture-harvester for 4chan
An auto-browser for another site I read, to simply mark stuff as "read".

Now, I haven't touched Java in almost 3 years, and Basic is beyond me, so does anyone have any helpful hints as to accomplishing this?

Basically, I'm trying to build a bot that will browse to a random page, and select a random thread on the page. A variable timer would also be nice...
