Would you like some tea

Name: Anonymous 2009-04-15 21:36

So, who all went to those tea parties today?

Who else is fed up with panicking because they thought they'd have to pay X amount because the tax code didn't make it clear that those scholarships weren't taxable as long as they were applied towards Tuition?

Moo?

If you went to a tea party or are up in arms about tax increases, you are a sucker. Taxes are going up for the top 5% of earners. Any non-millionaires at tea parties are protesting on behalf of the rich. Fox News promoted an event planned by lobbyists because rich people don't want to pay higher taxes, and the middle class does all the grunt work for them. Pathetic.

I'm getting more pissed off at this bullshit every second.  I live in the Deep South so nearly everyone I know is engaging over this massive circlejerk.  Its insane! Everyone is losing his mind over the illusion of insurmountable tax increases.  People bitching that they get less of a tax deduction on money donated to charity.  It's fucking ridiculous, if you want to tell all your friends and coworkers about your philanthropic donation of whatever minuscule percentage of your net financial worth, then why don't you actually fucking donate the amount you proclaimed you did instead of expecting the government to pay for a third of it.  Or complaining about how huge the debt/economic stimulus is getting under Obama.  Guess what, right wing fuckers?  Under Bush we lost whatever surplus we had under Clinton and amalgamated around $10,000,000,000,000 under Bush with irresponsible spending on a war that has resulted in exorbitant loss of human life.  The money Obama is spending is intended to help Americans other than top CEO's at fortune 500 corporations.  The best part is that for the average American this is the largest income tax cut in American history.

It's not just about taxes.  It's about taxes and SPENDING.  The SPENDING has to fucking STOP.
And as to taxes are "only" going up for the rich: PROTIP: rich people give you a job.  If they have less money, you have less of a chance of getting a job.
When you grow up and get out into the real world, you will understand things like this.

PROTIP: Rich people don't give out jobs. Companies give out jobs. If they have less money, they figure out another way to earn it or another company takes their place.
If it's not just about taxes, why does TEA in this instance stand for Taxed Enough Already? Why does tax have anything to do with tea parties if it's about spending?
If the spending is the problem, then what would you prefer be done about the state of the economy?

There's no uniformity to the whole thing because taxes/spending/direction of the country/etc is the blanket excuse for a bunch of people to get together because they're upset that Obama won.

So, how do the Libertardians here feel about shit they've been doing for years being hijacked by Republicans that don't actually give a shit about taxes and spending, but just don't like it when they're not in power?

A shift in the fundamental nature of the US state towards permanent and unfettered laissez faire free market. Possibly an amendment outlawing state controlled financial institutions such as the federal reserve and also institutions with partial state control such as government "sponsored" enterprises like Freddie Mac and Fannie May. They got us into this mess in the first place and now the entire country has to pay for their mistake. That's not fair.

No niggers at the tea parties. Thank God. Imagine the stench.

Laissez faire policies are how we into the current mess.

Government sponsored enterprises hired private enterprises to repackage toxic debt, because it had the state seal of approval few questioned the content of the CMOs.

Laissez faire policies were a contributory factor, interventionist policies were the cause.

Don't change these.
