Hitler's economic policy was a form of socialism, Nazi means National Socialism, the Jew killing spree isn't something that can be classified under a political ideology of any sort, but as for managing his own country, he had very strong central government and a strong control of the economy, so he was a liberal.

While they called themselvs national socialists, nazi is not an abbreviation of national socialist but just of national. In german national is pronounced nazional. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazi
And if strong central government and strong control of the economy makes an economy socialist then the US was also socialist by this time (the new deal). Actually, there were few examples of deregulated free markets during this time, so i guess that means the whole world was socialist back then... international conspiracy indeed.

Yes, America has many socialist policies, it's the entire economic model of the democratic party. I didn't say that's a bad thing, though I personally believe it's a bad thing, it does happen to be their policy.
i don't give a shit about hitler, but the guy said it was short for "nazional" and that was why it was called "nazi" party. but it's not, it's the na from NAtional, and zi from soZIalismus. (you can read this in books too)

The books youve been reading are wrong. Im german and i should know what nazi is a fucking abbreviation of. From the wiki article: "The term Nazi is derived from the first two syllables, as pronounced in German, of the official name of the German Nazi Party, the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei."
But maybe Hals book "How to become an inbred retard for dummies" has a different view. In that case, it is wrong. Find a german source.
I'm a German too and you're talking bullshit.
You gotta be an immigrated Turk or something

So what are the term sozi an abbreviation of?
Name:
Anonymous2007-03-28 13:10 ID:uhaLJBqY
Sozi ist die Kurzform für einen Anhänger des Sozialismus oder der Sozialdemokratie.
translates roughly to
"sozi is the short form for a follower of socialism or the socialdemocracy"
Analog zur Kurzform Sozi für Sozialist existiert auch die Kurzform Nazi für Nationalsozialist.
"analogue to the short form sozi, for socialist, exists also the short form nazi, for nationalsozialist."
now, that's from the german wikipedia, i suppose that's not a good enough source, so let me look it up somewhere else.
oh, look, it's from a german liberal website (liberal in the classical sense of the word, not the american, so i guess these guys have their socialist abbreviations right, no?)
Sozi,
der; -s, -s
verharmlosendes, familiarisierendes Diminutivum für Standard-, Neo- und Krypto-Sozialisten. Sozialisten setzen das Diminutivum, gerne im Eigengebrauch ein. Nach DUDEN allerdings abwertende Kurzform.
now, my german is far from perfect, but a roguh translation would be:
"belittling, familiarising, diminutive for the standard-, neo- and krypto-socialist. the socialist is likely to use the diminutive themselves (i'm not sure aobut this part). this is a very derogatory short form(i'm not sure about this either)"
Mussolini's Fascism, Hitler's national-socialism and Soviet's Marxist-Leninism have one thing in common: Both of them have strong tendency for coporate-style control.
Liberal-conservative (left-right) distinction is an archaic method in the 19th century. Not really the case today.

Are you the same as 15? Anywho, the point is if nazi is an abbreviation of NAtionalsoZIalist or NATIonalsozialist. The german wiki or wkitionary doesnt say (it just says its an abbreviation) while both english wiki and wiktionary says its NATI. So any sources of the former interpretation? And my point with sozi is that if its analogous then it should be NATI (since sozi is SOZIalist, the first two syllables).

It matters not how many time this is repeated, soviet marxist-leninism is not the same as fascism nor nazism, this is an oversimplification whos only reason is to vilify communism and socialism. But whatever.

>>17 here, i'm not 15. If nazi was an abbreviation of NATIonalsozialist, it would be nati, not nazi, what's the confusion about?
It doesn't fucking matter.

it's PRONOUNCED nazi, for fucks sake, it's spelled nati. When the fuck did people start abbreviating things depending on how they sound? let me tell you, never.

I'm not German but I believe that while the "nati" in National is pronounce "nazi" simply "nati" (written) would be pronounced as "nati" (without ts sound). That could possibly expain the difference in writing. Any Germans care to comment?
Well, the nazi discussion is over if people who claim that nazi does not come from NATIonal cant provide a source for this. Wiktionary and wiki is presented for the other side, are you just gonna throw insults to humiliate your self even further? A true nazi knows when he should put the luger to his temple and become an hero.
