Just wondered. Ubuntu here.
Been using linux for ten years, and ubuntu suits me fine. The shell is the same as any hipster distro, less driver headaches and anything I don't llike gets removed anyway.

Ubanto is targeted at liberal niggerlover noobs, that's why it's so popular here. It's the Obama of Linuces. But despite the fact that they are using image of dancing niggers on their cd and that they named the distro after an ancient nigger word meaning "we're going to rape your white ass", no nigger is actually involved in the development!! It's just marketing!

It's not on a machine I use everyday. It's not even connected to the Internet. I'll give it a try when I get the chance. Also, lol Theo de Raadt

I use an extensively modified form of Slackware that I call Aufklärung, inevitably abbreviated to "Aufie" (pronounced OW-fee). It was a failed experiment in getting everyone I know to wean them off of Windows.

He has an intellectual inferiority complex and probably wishes he could post on /prog/ instead of here, or did at one point and was ridiculed relentlessly.

Oh come on. I farted about with Commodore BASIC quite a bit myself. People would do that pre-Windows. You turn on the computer, and the language was right there already. I don't know what kids do like that now, because it's all clicking stuff.
>>47,48 Windows 1.0 came out on November 20 1985, are you some kind SFBEtards.....
And FYI Windows 3.11 came out 1990 assholes.
and the OS on the C64 was a port of 6502 Microsoft BASIC.

So anyway, with Windows GUI with mousing about dominant, it's just not ordinary to turn on a computer and start farting around with a programming language the way it was before. It used to be normal for everyone to try out some lines right out of the box.

Commodore machines still came about before 1985, so what. And who cares about MS BASIC. Normal people didn't have business machines at home -- they had the Apples, Commodores, Spectrums and so on. Regardless, it wasn't fucking Windows obviously.
Microsoft V1.0 BASIC [PET] (1977)
Microsoft V1.2 BASIC [PET] (1979)
Microsoft V2.0 BASIC [C64,VIC,PET] (1979)
Microsoft V3.5 BASIC [264] (1984)
Microsoft V3.6 BASIC [CLCD] (1985)
Microsoft V4.0 BASIC [PET] (1980)
Microsoft V4.5 BASIC [B-series] (1983)
Microsoft V7.0 BASIC [C128,B-series] (1985)
Microsoft V10.0 BASIC [C65] (1991)

You do know that the windows front-end GI is built on DOS and M$ BASIC, right!

The whole point is that when you turn on a Windows machine, people let Windows load in and start mousing around and never realize that they could be programming. Got it? The older machines turned on immediately because there was no hard drive -- it was the ROM, and there on the screen it said "COMMODORE BASIC" and you even had to type in a LOAD command to run something from a floppy.
Is plan 9 usable yet?
Wondering if they have enough hardware support. Suppose I should just download it and try it.

L33tUK was able to post again because everyone forgot how stupid he was and began talking about something slightly more noteworthy but still pretty retarded. Good job /lounge/.
