I am a loser

Name: Anonymous 2006-04-10 19:06

How do I stop being such a loser? I am ugly, untalented, uninteresting and have no personality. I cannot make smalltalk. I am greedy and selfish. My only somewhat redeeming qualities are my slighlty above average intelligence and my ability to hold a scientific/philosophical conversation. I have no friends, my family has forsaken me. I am pathetic, any friends I have ever had I have driven away. I may or may not be over exagerrating, but it sure as hell feels good to destroy myself through words. I didn't realise how cathartic this was until i finished. Is it to late for me? Help me 4chan.

I'll be your friend

For what it's worth, I know how you feel. I'm the same, except I also have a sense of humor. There was a girl who was my perfect match, but she left me today for another guy. So suck it up, buttercup, life's always changing, and if you're even the least bit intelligent, then you have SOMETHING to contribute to society.

I see where you're goin' with that, but given the state of the world, it seems intelligent people are short in supply.

no self respecting intelligent man would even say the words "philosophical conversation" or "cathartic", kill yourself ^_^

Mostly true. >>1 sums up life for a bunch of us here on 4chan I bet. They need to make jobs for losers like us. Something that involves using our slightly above average intelligence for the good of mankind... er, wait, forget that. We need something that's just good for US. Something like sex, if there is something that could rival it yet not involve social skills or being motivated.

OBVIOUSLY it's because you're ugly. Otherwise why would a "perfect match" leave you? But hey, she dumped you because of how you look, so she would have been a lousy girlfriend/wife anyways.

i think you're the future me, but atleast it looks like you have a *little* motivation to do anything

Ok, this is seriously weird, you sound like me aswell. To a certain extent. I am a talented philosopher and am currently undertaking a few projects to take advantage of my skills. I am good at defining things logically and I am creating new ideas that don't seem to have occurred anywhere else.

I suggest you force yourself to work on self improvement. Buy a book on descarte's philosophy and Kant, then like make a packed lunch and some tea in a thermos flask, then just startrunning and running until you are in the middle of fucking nowhere nad there is nothing for you to do other than read, then when it starts to get dark go back home and do the same thing the next day.

It sounds crazy, but it works. If you read just for the sake of learning and actually understand the concepts being put across by these 2 pinnacles of philosophical achievement then you will have learnt a great deal of something very very worthwhile and important. Anyone can learn anything given enough time. Eventually petty foibles like self asteem and other bullshitty emotions fade away, you will find yourself more disciplinned. There is only one rule which is to do it in your own way, there are no religions or psychologists who can tell you how to live. There is information and whether you understand it or not.

But philosophical debating skills get you nowhere. Socially, or with women at least. Unless you want to become a college professor or something it's useless. And motivation for such a huge task doesn't come easily. Becoming enlightened by reading books doesn't seem to do it for me, or any of the other above average intelligent people I know.

Usually we just end up sticking to computer programming or something and wasting our lives away on pointless (yet perhaps well paid) jobs like that. It's just not satisfying. To have money yet a boring life is still being a loser to me.

What if I grafted on a HUGE THROBBING NIGGER COCK onto my body? Would that work too?

>>1 I am greedy and selfish.

That's not a bad thing!

>>1 I am ugly

Who the fuck cares?

>>1 untalented, uninteresting and have no personality.

Says who?

>> My only somewhat redeeming qualities are my slighlty above average intelligence and my ability to hold a scientific/philosophical conversation.

How do you know you have above average intelligence?  You can talk philosophy, but that doesn't get people much.  I know people like you because I used to be like you... and I know that there are a lot of things that come naturally to other people, but those things do not come naturally to you.  So who is to say you are smarter than them just because you are good at (pointless) "philosophy" and they are good at everything else?

Anyway, what it comes down to is your perception of yourself.  If you think you are a loser, then you will feel like a loser, and if you feel like a loser, then dammit.... you are a loser even if the entire world tells you that you are not.  The power is your hands!!  Use the power, my son.  You don't have to tell yourself that you are pathetic and shit.  You must find a way to be happy with who you are.

Being greedy means people won't like you, same with being selfish. It puts people off. Being ugly means you won't have any positive attention from people; you might only have a few good friends, if any. And let's face it, much less on the women front as well, which matters to guys.

I'd also wager that >>1 does fairly well in school, so his claim to intelligence isn't unfounded.

I agree too on how your perception of yourself matters, but what if you don't know a way to feel happy with yourself? What if you don't feel you have any good qualities? Many people probably think that way. For me I just worked on my flaws and found I could do anything once I gave it a shot. I emphasized my strengths and that helped me a lot too. But overcoming that isn't easy (unless you already always believed you're better than everyone else, like me!) heh.

I think confidence and self-esteem comes from personal, or well really *any* achievement, any accomplishments. And if you lack motivation you generally suck at getting things done. It's a vicious circle as they say.
