Happened to come across this Japanese word today: 洋炉.
I've looked through various dictionaries (wwwjdic and Yahoo辞書 to be exact), but haven't found out what it means.

Does anyone know what it means?

洋 usually indicates that something western is meant. So maybe its just a fireplace/oven (炉) in a western style?

Yeah I had the same idea. I was looking through some weird winny/share downloads today and happened across 洋炉 and 亜炉 numerous times (with 洋炉 much more frequent). So the 洋 part meaning western is most likely correct. Not so sure about the hearth/fireplace thing though.

Yes, in this context the 炉 probably does stand for something else. Google gave me this: 洋炉っていうのは、ヨーロパのロリってこと。Well, you didn't say "weird" for nothing.

Yeah, I guess that explains it. Those crazy japs.
How did you find that out though? When I don't know a phrase or something I usually google "Xとは", but that didn't work out. What did you search for to arrive at that definition?

Yes, this is usually the best method to find out the meaning of a word/phrase which is not in the dictionary. I only used the more general "洋炉っ". Didn't get the answer in the first few hits, but you can quickly browse through them all until you find something that looks like an explanation.

炉 is a fireplace. It's also called 暖炉
洋炉 is a western-style fireplace
亜炉 is an eastern-style fireplace

...is what I would say if I didn't check google to be sure

Yeah, it looks like it's slang for pussy. So replace fireplace with pussy and I guess it still works

I have seen 炉 by itself and actually mean fireplace though >.>

and when you think about it
what body part is where you put your wood in hole to make things heat up?
