I've been on 4chan since early 2008, so I've seen a few boards come and go, Fashion, Hardcore, and R9K to be the ones I remember specifically. Of course there were boards that got baleeted before that, like Loli and Furry, but what about others? /yg/ was apparently Yogurt, but what was it about? What were the first 5000-something posts on /fk/ about? When were these boards created and removed? In my 3 years of 4chan, it has only just occured to me that there are text boards, so I'm exploring them. Were there previous text boards?

It's not exactly "secret" boards I'm looking for, just descriptions of (for lack of a better word) deprecated boards. /z/ is just a picture of bees on a dick, but /fk/ appeared to have had people posting on it before it became "secret". /adv/ was secret for a time, but is now a normal board. This also brings up another question: are there secret text boards? However, the real mystery is /yg/. Apparently, there is (or was) an important secret to it that I can only find hints about. I have also found the janitor and mod login screens, with Janitor being /j/. I assume Loli was /l/, but was /q/ ever used?

Don't forget /3/ and I think /5/.
/z/ was SOVIET RUSSIA, whose trip was autoban. Dunno if it still is, don't want to risk saying it. It's a ban in /k/ for just saying it anyway.

I hate secret boards, but the hardcore board and the loli board sound right up my alley. /gif/ seems to be the only "porn" board right now, and that's soon to change. /hr/ isn't what it used to be, and /h/ sucks.
Still wondering what /yg/ is, unless it's some elaborate troll.

It was just a page that had an old advert from 2003 for Danimals Yogurt, unfortunately, it didn't survive the major server transition (from zip/cgi/img/etc to boards.4chan.org), I'm guessing Mr VacBob cocked up on that while the servers were being revamped. You could ask him to put it up if he still has it on #4chan @ Rizon or his Formspring account http://www.formspring.me/mrvacbob
I've been on 4chan since early 2008
That's about roughly the same time as me. I got a glimpse of the pre-Web 2.0 frontpage layout before I started browsing the site regularly.

Huh, I might just ask him. I thought it was some big secret.
Was there ever a /q/ board?
>>>/q/ (just attempting, but I've never tried linking to an imageboard on a text board)

Apparently so, and it seemed to be used as a "Town Hall Meeting" board for general questions of the site. I couldn't tell you anything beyond that since that was circa 2004 (years before my time on 4chan/world4ch, and when /b/ had just 100,000 posts or so). >>>/q/ (just attempting, but I've never tried linking to an imageboard on a text board)
Yeah, that doesn't really work here. Just use the full URL. And I assume /j/ is the Janitor login?
It would appear to be so.

the first 5000 posts of /fk/ was roughly total and utter chaos with lots and lots of cp and loli

Holy shit. OP here. I was just browsing /q/ (ha ha), when I noticed the link to /img/. I had forgotten what it was, but remembered when I got here, remembering the thread I had made to ask about /yg/. And what do you know? It's the top thread! I know it isn't entirely relevant, but it still surprises me, because it's been over a year since I made that post, and the most recent post was several hours ago.

Just wait until you find an old thread and end up arguing with yourself from five years ago, that's always fun.
Anyway, /z/ was SoRu's board and lives on at http://sovietrussia.org/z/
/5/ was 5's unlisted board and people posted five of things. If you didn't, you were banned.
4chan also had a Tinychan clone board for a while, I think it was at tiny.4chan.org. No idea why moot removed it...maybe Kimmo Alm got to him.
