What were the older boards like?

I've been on 4chan since early 2008, so I've seen a few boards come and go, Fashion, Hardcore, and R9K to be the ones I remember specifically. Of course there were boards that got baleeted before that, like Loli and Furry, but what about others? /yg/ was apparently Yogurt, but what was it about? What were the first 5000-something posts on /fk/ about? When were these boards created and removed? In my 3 years of 4chan, it has only just occured to me that there are text boards, so I'm exploring them. Were there previous text boards?

Was there ever a /q/ board?
Apparently so, and it seemed to be used as a "Town Hall Meeting" board for general questions of the site. I couldn't tell you anything beyond that since that was circa 2004 (years before my time on 4chan/world4ch, and when /b/ had just 100,000 posts or so).

And I assume /j/ is the Janitor login?
