It would only make sense if it was adjusted for solo play, because no one else would be on at the same time, and the storyline is just like a single player game (party members in cutscenes can dummies).

Assuming the private server can adjust difficulty, then you could easily have single player balance. Mobs would be killed in about 3 hits, levels would be ten times faster, and you'd do more damage. Look at the FFXII demo for an example.
