QEMU Under Vista

Allright, I'm trying to run QEMU inder windows Vista, and it keeps crashing becasue of vista's FAIL.
So, here are my arguments
qemu.exe -L . -m 256 -boot d -cdrom osx.iso -hda tiger.img -soundhw all -localtime -M pc

Any idea why this doesn't work? It worked under XP, only with less RAM.

Why are you persisting with Vista if you already know it's made of fail?

I'm yet to find anyone who is benefitting from Vista more than XP, and anyone who 'prefers' Vista is just an eye-candy whore..

Can you name any benefits of 64-bit computing as opposed to 32-bit computing, as they apply to consumer desktops? Didn't think so.
There's a 64-bit Windows XP anyway, and it has better driver support than 64-bit Vista (though still crappier than 32-bit XP or 64-bit Linux).

And DirectX 10 is generally agreed not to be an improvement over DirectX 9. The fact that there still aren't any major games that require DX10 and don't support DX9 is a bit of a hint.

Except for the fact that when DX9 came out, DX8 games disappeared pretty much overnight. Maybe you're too young to remember.
DX10 isn't widely used because it offers no significant advantages over DX9, and a number of serious drawbacks.

Within the bin/ folder of QEMU, there exists several binaries. If you're running 64-bit Vista, you want to run ``qemu-system-x86_64.exe''; the default binary is compiled for 32-bit.

Except that the GPU usually takes care of that, and it will go exactly as fast on a 64-bit CPU running a 32-bit OS as it would on a native 64-bit OS.
Add to that the fact that Vista's flashy wank ``eye candy'' will be slowing everything down regardless, and you'd have to be an idiot to use 64-bit Vista for that purpose.

Any software that's Vista-only might as well not exist, as far as market forces are concerned.

But Vista has already been proven to be better and safer than other operating systems like linux and XP its really just because it is a bit overpriced but I can assure you even at $1000 it is definately worth getting Ultimate version for all the extra features. things like the aero transparent graphics and streaming desktops make this OS the most advanced yet and it really uses the current technology to its advantage

Anonymous vista-hater. Get a real job so you can earn the money to buy a copy of vista. Its obvious you are a cheapskate running a hacked copy of XP who is suffering sour grapes coz you cant install a cracked version of vista but you want all the new functionality
