Law: Everyone must buy Vista

Name: Anonymous 2007-01-21 18:52

I hear there will be this new law that says everyone who uses Intel or AMD processors must also purchase Windows Vista in order to legally use them even if they aren't gonna install it and opt for, say Linux.  Can anyone link me to where I can find more info on this?

Name: Anonymous 2007-01-21 18:56

Someone's imagination.

Name: Anonymous 2007-01-21 19:26

Yeah, that's bullcrap and you're fucking gullible for coming here to ask about it. We may be going in that direction, but we're nowhere near there yet.

Matter of time :(
They already shove Windows up your ass in shit premade computers.

Name: Anonymous 2007-01-22 6:27

now this is a quality troll. guys, we need to learn from this one

>>5
No, not really, I'd say it's pretty bad, actually.

Name: Anonymous 2007-01-22 7:42

>>6
C'mon, >>4 wasn't that bad. It was part true, well written, insulting to some, and sounded like I'm on people's side.

I read somewhere that some dude managed to get a refund on the cost of the XP installation on his Dell computer. Basically he just took a photo of him rejecting the licence agreement and installing Linux. They then refunded the money (like £60 or so) back onto his card.

Maybe all you geeks should actually try this sort of thing rather than just being a whining faggot about it. That way more manufacturers would take Linux/BSD seriously.

Vistas a processor whore. WHats with the fuckin desktop? Takes a ton of processing...
Anyway, I don't think linux will ever come standard with anything cause its just not as windowy as windows. Everything is written to work on windows, even those cheap shitty CDs you get from WacArnolds in a happy meal. And anyway, everything has to be super user friendly for those non-computer people who throw away wireless keyboards because the batteries die. You would not believe how many sets of wireless keyboards and mice I have picked up out of people's trash cans at work! Afuckinmazing.

But WacArnolds got Calvin a job. WAY TO GO YOUNGBLOOD!

also,
GTFO NAMEFAG.

Fine.  Let them.

Hackers will just use FPGAs to create their own DRM free CPU and computer platform.

Ever used an FPGA?

hay welcome to the 1980's guyz retro speeds lol

Name: Anonymous 2007-01-23 2:18

so much bs in this thread,
FPGA's-wtf? lol , most current CPUs are actually DRM free, only 3 motherboards are TPM enabled(made by Intel) and they are advertised in fuckling bold letters as TPM,actually their description boasts a lot with it.. not to mention they implement specs v1.1 which isnt accepted by Vista,so currently there arent any 100% vista drm solutions, there might be some in the future.. current TPM was used for good only (to provide data integrity verification on server platforms),but if they get the bs chips in general purpose mobo's then it would open too much room for DRM,and outweight the advantages provided by it by too much, yea people boycott these fuckers, even if both MS,Intel and AMD are supporting them(currently TPM is built in the mobo not CPU,but they might move it inside CPU in the future)

It's possible.
>>13
Yeah it'll be slow at first.  There *was* a linux 1.0, you know.

What kind of sriking RETARD would buy a "TPM-enabled" motherboard? If anybody is stupid, ball-licking imbecile enough to do that, we should beat him to death, then piss on his grave.

I was referring to >>1 and not >>4. At best, >>4 is just a shitty flaimbait. At worst, it is a shitty comment which uses negative emotional connotation.

Now for >>1, this guy challenges us with something that we would find distasteful. He does this by getting us to respond in a certain manner through the use of rumor and exploitation of relevant issues. I'm not sure if this guy is trolling or not. This is an attribute of a good troll. Right off the bat, this guy does this and I salute him for it - if he is a troll.

Name: Anonymous 2007-01-23 7:26

>>1 was not that great of a troll, it was somehow too naive and based on too incredible rumours.

Name: Anonymous 2007-01-23 8:28

Hey >>19, listen to me for a moment, a'ight? I don't care if it's not related to this thread. Just listen!

Yesterday, I went over to the Ristorante di Milano for a simple meal. Yes, THAT Italian restaurant, Ristorante di Milano.
But the whole restaurant was so crowded, I couldn't even find a seat for hours!
Then I saw a poster that said "Special offer! €12 discount".
I thought to myself... geez, that's so fucking amazing. You guys don't even normally visit Ristorante di Milano.
All you bastards came here just for that stupid-assed €12 discount.
Just for those 12 Euros. TWELVE FREAKIN' EUROS!!

Then I saw some parents & children. A family of four eating out at the Ristorante di Milano. Damn, so much for that bitch's home-cooked family feast.
Then one of the little brats said "Daddy's gonna order a large Bruschetta Fegatini".
I couldn't believe it! Uuuuuggh, are you out of your fucking mind!?
Shiiit, I'll pay you €12 just to move your stanky fat-ass out of a seat.
Dude, you just don't go to the Ristorante di Milano for that lala-oh-i'm-so-happy dinner bullshit.
It's where you pick a fist-fight with the fucking guy sitting across 'yah in that U-shaped table.
Kill or be killed. Heh... now that's the kinda shit I like.
Ladies, kids, stand back... 'cuz everything's gonna get FUCKED UP NOW.

After waiting for ages, I finally found an empty seat. But then, the guy next to me ordered by saying "A large Neopolitan pizza with a LOTTA' pepperoni".
Dude, that just pissed me off even more. Shit, you just don't say "lotta' pepperoni" nowadays, ya' freaking bastard.
How the fuck can you say "lotta' pepperoni" with that "oh, i'm so fucking cool, hur-hur-hur..." look!?!?
Damn, I was THIS CLOSE to standing in front of his face and yelling "DO YOU EVEN LIKE EATING THAT MUCH FUCKIN' PEPPERONI!?"
For a freaking hour, I was THIS CLOSE to doing that.
Shit, I bet you just wanted to use the words "lotta' pepperoni" out loud. Wow, you're so clever.

Dude, you gotta be like ME. See, now I know what's "all that" in the Ristorante di Milano.
What's cool right now to say is "Pennette con Ricotta & Melanzane". That's it!
You see now, a large pasta serving with aubergines & ricotta is what the hardcore Ristorante di Milano freaks eat. Like ME.
Saying "Pennette con Ricotta & Melanzane" means that won't get a pizza, but they put a WHOLE MESS of pasta.
Mmmmm... a lotta pasta, now THAT'S what I call a meal.
But anyhoo... ordering that is kinda' like a double-edged sword. Cuz' then the waiters might notice you the next time you come by.
So yeah, I can't recommend this to amateurs.
For you, just go order a Prosciutto e Melone al Ventaglo. That's as far as you can go, you know what I'm sayin'?

TLDR

Name: Anonymous 2007-01-23 11:11

12€ is nothing to snub. The original discount, 150 Yen (1-5-0 YEN!), is like 3€.

Yes, I was thinking of >>1 myself.

As for >>1, I'd stick with today's special.

However, the sword of many edges accompanied also by risk of saying that it will be marked on a salesclerk from the next if it orders this.

Name: Anonymous 2007-01-23 13:06

Be fastidious. It comes out and is a large serving of GYOKU (egg) to it. This the strongest.

Name: Anonymous 2007-01-23 13:06

It cannot recommend to an amateur.

Hint: You are one of these people.

Name: Anonymous 2007-01-23 14:42

They might legislate DRM as mandatory, effectively outlawing Linux unless Linux is made into a non-free, proprietary OS... but even then, that kind of legislation will be about as followed and respected by the majority populace as alcohol prohibition was.  ie -- the gubbermint won't be able to enforce it without pissing off a lot of people.

There are actually a few advantages for some server platforms, mostly regarding crypto and data security,so that chip can actually prove useful for some servers, but when it comes to our home pcs,you gotta be crazy to buy it,and not because it does anything,as you can turn it off,but because if enough pcs get that crap, they will start making drm for it and want people to use that shit.. so we need to boycott all those to be able to avoid such types of hardware drm,and is our only solution to defeat them at this game.

Name: them 2007-01-23 15:10

dude we're gonna get your ass and take away your freedom and spy on you and shit it's gonna be so hardcore

Don't change these.
