I'll start this OPERAlog which I'll be updating every time I'm forced to do something with OPERA and find the experience sucks. I don't use OPERA when I need to do serious web browsing, but sometimes I need to use my laptop where I can't use Safari since its processor can't run a Hackintosh. Note: I won't list each annoyance more than once, even if it annoys the hell out of me every day in my life.
Using Opera 9.02
- When you click on a torrent link, Opera wants to download it with its built-in client. However, it sucks dicks for most serious torrents - you can't choose which files you want for starters.
That wouldn't be a problem if the fucker didn't force you to use it. You have to right-click-save-as if you want the torrent to actually be saved to the HD so I can send it to a real client. Why the fuck can't I set it up so that I can shell-open torrent files from Opera?
Man, if you're going to bitch about Opera, how about using problems that can't be fixed with five seconds of googling? For example:
- The tab thumbnails are a good start, but the implementation is useless. It's faster to just '1' your way through.
- There is no way to get new opened links to always popunder by default. Whoever decided to use the mousewheel as the middle button was a moron.
- Site preferences, while a good idea, are far too limited.
- A BIG ONE: The browser is suffering more UI lag spikes now than ever before. The damn POS will sometimes lock up for several seconds
See? It's not that hard!

Because they should be fixed with five seconds in the normal preferences dialog, not in the big hidden preferences dump thing.

When I stab Opera in the back, no music is played. This behavior is counter-intuitive.

"hidden preferences dump thing"? Geez, you Mac people really do live in your own little bubble, don't you?
You can also change this in preferences > advanced > downloads (hint, hint).
But you still fail at googling. How long did it take you to type >>1?

OPERA IS PERFECT
GTFO
WHEN OTHER PROGRAMS REVISE CODE, THEY GET CLOSER TO PERFECTION
WHEN OPERA REVISES CODE, THE UNIVERSE GROWS MORE PERFECT

You can also change this in preferences > advanced > downloads
No you can't. Opera/9.02 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en)

Opera takes ages to download and apply CSS rules. Even for sites in cache. It is more than happy to serve dynamic pages from the cache all the fucking time, but it just can't remember that it already downloaded the CSS, and that it is more urgent than the pictures are.
Pressing pretty much any key on the keyboard will have unexpected effects. The keyboard shortcuts are fucking retarded (press 0 to zoom, the only way to fix it being to press the key 6!). The people who okayed such faggotery need to be shot. You can change them to something more sensible, but why would you do that since Firefox ships with the right shortcuts?

It's a matter of preference. I prefer Opera's layout, even if, as you say, some of the keys are strange. When Opera decided to make its layout a bit closer to Firefox's, a lot of Opera diehards were screaming. Why? Because that's what they were used to, that's all.
Also, you can zoom back out again using 9 (or -).

If you want to keep using an inferior browser simply because that's what you're used to, go right ahead.

Opera users are gay and stupid.
True story.

Opera is getting some pixels wrong in animated gifs for no reason. It really fucks up your animated pixel art.
