Dropped out of a philosophy major.
4channers tend not to do liberal arts? Either than or the science/engineering people are more vocal about their interests (read: homework).

>>7 >>3 here. I can't speak for others, but although I would rather pursue a degree in English, I've chosen to be pragmatic about my future. Sure, I'd end up having an above average knowledge of literature, but will I be secure and happy financially? It's possible, but if I'm going to spend four more years in school, I'm going to study something that is practical. Perhaps I'm "selling out," but devoting my life to academia is currently out of the question.
Same here bro. We're both going to starve to death aren't we?

Nonsense. Once my book is published, once I get around to writing, I'll be quite well off.

I'm interested in writing for video games and comics, both niche fields that are hard to break into. If anyone knows some artists and would like to collaborate as a studio to create some type of independent project, let me know.

I believe a hentai game and manga studio would be welcome in this day and age. Quite a bit of creative effort goes into such works.

It depends on the subject. Should we focus on fantasy, science fiction, history, or contemporary? A web comic would be cost effective, but it needs decent art.

I'm a high school dropout, and I'm going back to school for photography. English degrees have never really appealed to me.

Typical, a thread about who is an English student turns into a discussion about making a hentai game. fucking 4chan.

History here. Honestly I spend a lot more time reading literature than I do reading history, and that was pretty much true even while I was a student. But that's not to say I'm not genuinely interested in history... and after all, I always knew I'd keep reading and appreciating books no matter what I studied.
As far as starving to death goes, history is barely better than english lit. I graduated a year ago and after turning down a few possible jobs last summer because I wanted to travel and chill out for a bit, here I am with no job and no money left, wondering how long I can string this out before I have to move back in with my parents.
