What did you guys think of this week's Lupin?

Souichiro Matsuda and many Ufotable talents, as usual.

Masayuki Kunihiro did the Saber vs Berserker fight I think.
He worked on Berserker fight for episode 5.
He's one of the most talented young animator in Ufotable.
I thought that was the only good part in this ep.
Shit storyboarding, shit cameraworks. these killed the good sakuga.

I don't get Matsuda part.

Yuichi Itou?

>>363
Looking at ANN, that's probably him. His resume certainly consists of  lot of KyoAni anime. He didn't work on episode 23 though.

Tomonori Kogawa

Name: Anonymous 2012-06-15 11:50

Speaking about Bahi's tweets, he said he's working on an anime as "original chara designer", amirite?

My bad, I meant to say episode 22, yes it was Yuichi Itou whom I thought to be the Ex-KyoAni animator.

Episode 21's Excalibur slash by Saber also seemed nicely animated.

I've always wondered, when did KyoAni get a reputation for having consistently good animation in their shows?

AIR

Who did the cut from Sengoku Collection episode 10?
That sword action really surprised.

Some of their earlier works were touch and go in terms of quality. I'd say it'd be around 2006 with FMP The Second Raid, since then their quality has been much better.

 Takashi Kojima ?

that's right, or basically it was.
I assume that the project got cancelled.

Stuff like this happen pretty often.

I remember that Mebae was also in charge for the original character design of "Aura".
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=13894

But they cancelled the project. That's the tough side of anime business.

well F/Z #24 was alright. Not greaaaaaaaaat, but it had some satisfying storyboard/layout work. The fights could have been longer and more polished, there was nothing really MINDBLOWING in there. Favorite cut was probably the rotating camera one denoting Kiritsugu and Kotomine's fight to the inside of the grail. It was a little reminiscent of KnK5 lol

Berserker vs Saber was obviously cut due to time constraints. Like you said, Kirei vs Kerry was kinda neat. Was that by Ikariya?

most likely

That dance scene also his cut.

AIR was pretty consistent though there'd be a couple of off model problems in some episodes. Haruhi had of lot of that problems. Still, the over all animation stuck up to the standards which was above average to begin with. It's not that of a big problem for me if the character's movement is depicted with subtle liveliness.

If I were to choose and say where KyoAni's improvement really shows, it's Lucky Star.

Is it me, or quite a handful of talented key animators seem to be freelancers rather than being attached to a studio? Wouldn't it be better for job security if they were to work for a studio?

Name: Anonymous 2012-06-17 0:00

Kazuto Nakazawa as a main animator on Kuroko's Basket ep 11.
The basketball scenes were very KAZUTO.

Mamoru Oshii praised the Blood-C movie.

I want to see it so bad.

Did he praise it just for the animation, or for the story as well?

First 8-mins of the Blood-C movie.  I found the 3D pans a little awkward, but it looks well directed and satisfyingly polished overall.  Looking forward to it.

Hunter x Hunter #35
Hiroyuki Okuno, Hidehiko Sawada
Awesome Gon vs Hisoka fight.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiEts1cs44E

Sawada is the best HxH (2011) animator isn't it?
That Hisoka fghit #10 and the coin game #25 were his work too.

Wow.. Just how busy are they right now?

Something tells me that their 1 project policy might soon be changed.

Hisashi Mori again at ZETMAN 12.
That beast Hisashi got me really hyped.

Ishihara didn't work on the first 11 episode of Hyouka.
Ikeda also said that she's just back to work on the key animation of Hyouka recently (still hasn't been credit in the first 9 episode)

So probably more Haruhi...

Yokoyama, Imaishi and Yuasa on Lupin #12.
Yokoyama and S. Yamamoto co storyboarded/directed the episode.
Perhaps this show still has hope.
