Goodnight, fellow VIPPER.

Oh, of course. We aren't /r9k/, nor /adv/, nor /soc/, nor /b/ nor /a/.

We are /vip/.

We are Quality.

>>188
I think this is good, it'll avoid the tripfag circlejerk, and everyone will be the same to everyone. Some VIPPER Trolling will happen, but we're certainly going to know when the OP is posting for real.

You don't even need to F5 (if you want to), click on the "Newer Posts" link below the last comment, and you'll see the new comments.

Good night, sweet dreams, Vipper.

Name: VIPPER 2012-12-24 0:07

I wish we could use /vip/ like the Japanese do. It's lightweight so you can take it anywhere HAH, but it isn't integrated into phones like 2ch is.

Name: VIPPER 2012-12-24 0:08

>>203
It truncates it to the recent 'page', though. Might not be so great if you're looking for previous posts that people have quoted.

We also need to promote a sense of unity in the board, while at the same time not coming off as 'We are legion' style fags. It's a careful balance.

Name: VIPPER 2012-12-24 0:08

I wonder what actually happens when you report a thread. Are there people who still care?

Name: VIPPER 2012-12-24 0:10

I think a big step forward would be to get at the minimum, extensions for redirecting to the thread instead of page 0 when you post and such.

Name: VIPPER 2012-12-24 0:10

>>206
Then we must build it now that we're small and unnoticed. Maybe we need helpful threads to teach people how to use /vip/? Maybe ask moot to stick a thread for us related to how to post here? A list of Japanese emoticons to convey our feelings better since we can't post image reactions?

Name: VIPPER 2012-12-24 0:10

>>207
If there isn't, there should be.  Dedicated moderators should be established, but if all goes well we shouldn't see much of them.

Name: VIPPER 2012-12-24 0:11

>>203

Thanks for the refreshing tip.

The "whole no tripfags, everyone is the same" lesson is best learnt from the first few months of /r9k/.

Just remember, VIP Quality. That is the solution.

Name: VIPPER 2012-12-24 0:11

>>206
Well, the only real thing tying us here right now is Molester Man. So all our unity is pretty much just right there.

Name: VIPPER 2012-12-24 0:12

>>209
It's going to be hard getting used to using emoticons. Feels... kinda dirty. ( `⊇`)

Name: VIPPER 2012-12-24 0:12

>>209
A board culture of helpfulness, attentiveness, and politeness is what I think we should strive toward.

I disagree with liking blogging threads to /vip/ just yet, we need to establish a healthy board culture beforehand.

Name: VIPPER 2012-12-24 0:13

>>209

"Helpful threads" on how to post VIP Quality will only make us end up like /vg/

Name: VIPPER 2012-12-24 0:15

>>215
We need to lead by example, and not rely on rules and stickies to set one for us.

Name: VIPPER 2012-12-24 0:16

>>213
We don't need to be edgy faggots here. I'm sure we'll overcome this. We grew fond of the image reactions and avoided emoticons like the plague, we'll have to get used, but in the end we won't care about using emoticons.

>>212
It's true. But we'll soon start having our own threads and giving helpful advice, making sure the board becomes VIP Quality. More people will come to like it, and Molester Man won't be our only unity anymore.

There is a time and place for them, VIPPER.
Throwing them in at the end of sentence or post reduces VIP Quality quotients.

Name: VIPPER 2012-12-24 0:17

Well I guess this is a good a place as any to ask. How do you spoiler here? What about greentext and boldtext like >>26 and >>107 did? The 4chan FAQ isn't any help.

Name: VIPPER 2012-12-24 0:18

>>215
Oh no, I don't mean generals. I mean a sticky and closed thread with the relevant information we'd need. Not much. If it proves to be much of a bother, then we can always get rid of it. I would like the thread to be of what >>214 said, once it's been established and most people know what the board is about, we can get rid of it? I dunno.

Name: VIPPER 2012-12-24 0:18

>>219

It's just like those things you used to use, back in the day.

Forums I think we called them.

The spoiler system is the same, I think. Like this?. Now the others are something I don't know about. Maybe like the BB coding?

Emoticons can be used, but I think we should still frown on :) :( :D D: and the like. It promotes a bad posting style. Ideally, emoticons should be used for emotions that are incredibly hard or specific and cannot be expressed in words easily. They should be needed to convey the emotion, rather than used as a lazy replacement. 'Feels' is a good example of what not to do. It's vague, tells other people almost nothing and is just a lazy way to not bother expressing your emotions.

Guys if you want to know, it's just like >>221 said.
[b] [/b ] for bold [i] [/i ] for italics, etc.

>>224
I agree.

I actually never used forums. I found them too clunky and cluttered.

>>222
Well I guess it's experiment time.

Oh please don't tell me that colorsare allowed.

Phew. Crisis averted. Conflict resolved.

>>228
God that would be obnoxious.
What about [tt]text[/tt]

Name: VIPPER 2012-12-24 0:30

Now we only need a link (Do they even work here?) to a list of Japanese emoticons, know how to greentext, and we'll be on our way to become VIP Quality.

I believe lurking and taking time to think out your replies will be the best way to promote VIP Quality posts.

I remember when I lurked /a/ for 3 years before I started to post regularly.
Times have changed, and the posts since that time, to now, really show that.

I don't believe /a/ had a problem with "elitism" as some of the newcomers perceived. Our actions in the early days stressed a certain quality to each of the posters replies and threads.

As such, this made it appear that the whole board had a air of elitism to it.
But really, that's more of a illusion of the influx of the newfags since that summer. And eventually, /a/ changed.

On the plus side, despite the massive growth, we haven't stooped down to /v/'s Nth level of shit.

>>234
Oh, right! I had forgotten about this. Thanks for reminding me.

Name: VIPPER 2012-12-24 0:35

Hm... If > doesn't work for quotes, then does code work?

for (int i; i<100; i++)
{
print(i);
}

Name: VIPPER 2012-12-24 0:36

So are we going to make the board un-dead?
