1) weabo shit isn't a problem, unless the post contains nothing tech related.
2) Become the change you wish to see. Never, ever, respond (in any way) to any useless post or any attempted troll post.
3) Start using sage in the way it was intended (This is a reply to the thread and I'm being polite by not bumping, not "lol, I vote your thread down")
People may want to consider using sage for every thread, unless the thread is actually good.
4) Tech support threads are death and aids. But they're better than 90% f the shit on /g/ (they're better than rate my rig threads). If OP has shown some attempt at solving problem /g/ may want to give hints and tips about how to continue solving problem - this helps op learn, and can generate useful interesting discussion ("you can do that, but why would you want to, this is the usual method"). If op is a useless clueless fuck it's better to just link to a search engine and sage, with maybe an explanation of why techsupport threads are hated.
LIST OF THINGS I REALLY FUCKING HATE ON /g/
1) Porn. And porn staying for *hours* even when reported. Especially when that porn is illegal in US. I'd make posting unclothed bodies, whether 2d or 3d, bannable. Only a short ban, like a couple of hours, but enough to get the point across that /g/ is worksafe.
2) Reaction images and green txt. (I'd be tempted to make this bannable. Only a short ban, maybe an hour. Just enough to make the point that it's fucking annoying.)
3) Copy-pasta troll threads appearing every fucking day.

Anyone interested in an "awesome posts only February"? You plan (now) a bunch of threads that you'd like to start or take part in. You prepare images. You get research and links ready.
Then, in Feb, you start posting them, spreading them out over the month.

Also part of the problem is alot of /g/ users come from /b/. The horu threads is fucking aids. I mean 1/4 of 4chan is weaboo boards why the fuck bring it /g/ ?
That sage thing sounds useful. They do it well on /jp/.

>>6 Add sage as default for the email field would do the trick. That is, people relay need to do an interactive action by removing sage to bump anything.
Of course, such changes are up to moot and his "benefactors".

That would be nice, but /g/ will still be 40% tech support and rate my rig! threads.
Yes, there would still be a lot of bad threads, but at the moment there's enough shit to drive people away.
Rate my rig threads are not salvagable, but some tech support threads could lead to discussion. (Without spoonfeeding the poster)

why are rate my rig threads bad? Is it because of brand trolling?

What about nVidia woodscrew threads?

That's true.
I think tech support threads were people who know what they're doing and have researched and tried to solve problem otherwise, but come to /g/ as I final resort, are fine... and can lead to discussion.
I'm referring to tech support threads were kids from come asking stupid questions about "why they has viyrus" or "why facebook isn't working" without TRYING GOOGLE FIRST

I think rate my rig threads and support threads should be banned. They should only be posted on /r/.
For sure, soem of them are okay, but the really dumb ones are just death.

I just hate the "Crap i got the antivirus 2009 malware help me fix and i don't wanna reformat". They panic without even trying to identify and solve the problem.

Non-computer technology threads seem to get good replies.

Well, /G/entoo got a whole lot worse since /sci/ opened.
I guess I'll be hiding a lot more threads now.

Some mods came in and banned the shit out of the weeaboos

The answer is to go to other pages and bump the on topic threads, and make your own.
Form a cabal and you can get this down pretty well in unison.

San Francisco has shown strong interest in Kiko Calero.

Milton Bradley fled Chicago without paying the rent due on his condominium and is being sued for $44,000.

And, finally, in honor of Conan O'Brien, here's old time baseball.

Flood all troll threads with 0/10. It has been working lately.
>faggot makes thread
>flood with 0/10
>failed troll doesn't troll again
Besides the huge number of /g/ memes /g/ isn't as bad as it was at the climax of it's downfall.

I remember one day mods went on a weaboo banning spree and the board was actually good for a bit. Once they stop mercilessly banning them, it turned to shit again.
>>31
the mods on /g/ are retarded sometimes, yes they banned all the anime shit but then they left the CP thread up till it naturally 404'd after reaching autosage (this was the same night).

Posting from a text-based browser in Gentoo Linux. Gentoo IS a good distro, but as a meme it's fucking annoying.
