cox usenet servers down?

I can't seem to find anything about why Usenet suddenly stopped working for me, and I haven't been able to even so much as update group lists in several weeks, I keep getting this message:

Cox doesn't have any information on their sites as to why it isn't working, and I haven't changed anything at all since it last worked so I have absolutely no clue as to why I cannot connect.

Does anyone know what's going on?

Only about 75 newsgroups were shut down. Not sure if they were shut down on specific servers or totally.

OP, try using different Usenet mirrors. check Google Groups if you have to. Usenet newsgroups are hosted on many servers (the amount depends on the popularity of the newsgroups) which sync their data on at least a daily basis. Has to be one out there that you can get to.

OP here, I feel pretty fucking dumb but as it turns out, everything was peerguardian2's fault. It blocked 100% of my usenet access, and I only realized this when I rebooted my computer for a ms update and tried booting up newsleecher without turning on pg2 first.

Pg2 is so useless. What the hell is the point in blocking usenet access?
