cox usenet servers down?

I can't seem to find anything about why Usenet suddenly stopped working for me, and I haven't been able to even so much as update group lists in several weeks, I keep getting this message:

Cox doesn't have any information on their sites as to why it isn't working, and I haven't changed anything at all since it last worked so I have absolutely no clue as to why I cannot connect.

Does anyone know what's going on?

OP here, I feel pretty fucking dumb but as it turns out, everything was peerguardian2's fault. It blocked 100% of my usenet access, and I only realized this when I rebooted my computer for a ms update and tried booting up newsleecher without turning on pg2 first.

Pg2 is so useless. What the hell is the point in blocking usenet access?
