Linux Distros?

I'm looking to reinstall Linux and I've tried Ubuntu a few times, but I would like to branch out.

I'm not that great with console, though I can navigate my way around it a bit, and I've always used GNOME, so it might be nice to use KDE for once.

Can anyone suggest some good Linux distros for me?

Ok, I just tried installing Fedora. The installer hangs at /sbin/loader. And that's on an almost 2 year old computer, so it's not some fancy unsupported hardware. Some great distribution you faggots.

Debian, SuSE, Gentoo, Knoppix, they all manage to boot on the exact same system. Heck, I've even installed FreeBSD on it yesterday. No problem. Only Fedora fails to boot. And yes, I've tried noapic and acpi=off. What now, faggots?
