Linux Distros?

I'm looking to reinstall Linux and I've tried Ubuntu a few times, but I would like to branch out.

I'm not that great with console, though I can navigate my way around it a bit, and I've always used GNOME, so it might be nice to use KDE for once.

Can anyone suggest some good Linux distros for me?

Gentoo! Just don't try compiling open office, or i mean you can try but it takes a long ass time
