I would liek to hook up some consoles to VGA
preferably the Wii
Can i cut up a vga cable and a component cable hook up the wires and play Wii on my flat screen vga/dvi monitor?
Or is it only possible with a tvcapture card or special adapter like Xbox1 and neox2vga?

you can do the first if you know what to do. otherwise, get an adapter - its less risky.

No, Wii outputs YPbPr. You'd need a transcoder, and if you buy one, why cut the cable?

Note. Component video is NOT RGB. It is a compressed format that has a couple standards, usually YPbPr and YCbCr. As mentioned earlier, the Wii outputs the more common YPbPr. There are conversion equations for going between component and RGB.

I assumed wii was standard 3 plug rca left, right sound and video connection.
I'd be willing to bet that you can't just get a VGA-output on the Wii this easily, but I'm sure that a conversion scheme could be jerry-rigged if you had a capture device of some kind that supports HiDef.
