Large display device required

Hey all...

What would be a suitable display device to show an audience of around 300 people a 1 hour presentation? I'm not sure what's good and bad these days in the world of displays/projectors etc, but thought some of you might have an idea what to go for.

As I said, around 300 people will be watching... the closest people will be about 5m from the screen, and the furthest, about 25m, so I'm not sure what kind of angle those at the sides will be viewing at...

Any idea what to go for?

A projection screen and any lightbox/digital projector on the market today would be sufficient for any presentation...the majority of presentations these days don't usually stray beyond that. Personally, I've used them for numerous presentations (two projectors in one showing!! Yeaaaaah!!!), and the picture quality is all relative to the price. The cheaper the lightbox, the smaller the audience you'll be able to present to.

Aside from a DP, you'll need a laptop with some sort of video-out (VGA/DVI is best, i.e. computer monitor cables. I've tried A/V Video out on my personal laptop, it's not nearly as convenient.) and a male to male cable to connect the two devices. Some DP packages include all the cables you'll need, but I've also found that if you're in an auditorium setting, lengthy (+100ft) DVI cables are a great investment.

I like to stand up on the podium, unzip, and display away with the original show off equipment GOD provided us with.  Not sure if I could go on for a whole hour, though, actually...
