Okay, let's say they've feigned ignorance about consequences such as reciprocity. They literally are perplexed by retaliation!!! I think they've forgotten all about reciprocity and have totally gone over to a corrupted form of altruism thinking we'll do unto them as we would have them do unto us (just take it) rather than do unto them as they've done unto us (retaliate). Are they really that naive???

"pleasure derived from the misfortunes of others."
However, through reciprocation, this same person cannot derive pleasure derived from others deriving pleasure from THEIR misfortune.
Schadenfreude then becomes a paradox of reciprocation.
On the point I was getting at...I think i finally understand the riddle of this non-reciprocal form of acting out.
One person wishes to be the sadist and thereby takes pleasure in the misery of others, whereas the sadist cannot and does not take pleasure in being the masochist who is being taken advantage of by another sadist.
Which is slightly off, considering that all sadists are masochists at heart meaning that these pseudo-sadists are doing something self-defeating via a vicious-cycle they can't stop.

Perhaps you could brainwash a sadist into embracing masochism over time, but that is dependent on the resolve, will, and awareness of the sadist.

Shit, this perfectly describes someone I used to work with, he actually ended up getting let go because of this, And to this day he still blames EVERYONE(including me) but himself, its like he literally cant grasp the concept that his actions can have negative consequences on himself. He even went so far as to file Anonymous harassment complaints against our company after he was let go, because and I quote "we needed to pay"
