Who's this guy?

Name: Anonymous 2008-12-30 9:09

so yeah long time ago I read some shit about some mathematician etc.

He had 3 theories or questions or something like that and eventually they were all solved/proven/disproven/whatever.

Anyways I can't remember any details but I'd like to know his name since I can't find the articles I read anymore.  Any ideas?

Holy shit, THREE THEORIES??  Noone could possibly have had that many theories in just one lifetime!

I KNOW IT'S CRAZY AS PISS LOL

I donno, I can't really be more specific because I can't actually remember the details.  But he had 3 of something and they were special for some reason... something relative to mathematics, I'm sure he had more than 3 of [whatever it was] in his lifetime but these 3 were special somehow.  Maybe he just thought they were more important, or maybe something else.

Just wondering if anyone on this board knows who I happen to be thinking of.

Most people who do pre-calc don't realize they're doing analytic geometry, and most people who do calc don't even know the name Descartes. Forgive his ignorance, if you would.

The word "mathematician" has been officially changed to the much easier version of "mathwiz".  MAKE A NOTE OF IT.

Well Fermat had a bunch of conjectures that mathematicians spent 300+ years proving or disproving.  Maybe whatever you were reading/watching picked out three particular ones to focus on.
