How would i solve this using logs with and without a calculator?
3^x=54
I have an idea, but when i put it into Log(54) (base 3)=X, but here i get stuck. Do i divide the log of 54 by the log of 3?

Log(54) (base 3) is already a number.
If you want to get that number without log, you'll have to use some Taylor series or some shit I guess.

log(3^x) = log(54)
x log(3) = log(54)
x = log(54)/log(3)

base3log(54) = base3log((27)(2))
= base3log(27) + base3log(2)
= 3 + base3log(2)

3^{x} = 54
\mbox{ln}(3^{x) = \mbox{ln}54
x \mbox{ln}3 = \mbox{ln}54
x = \frac{\mbox{ln}54}{\mbox{ln}3}
x = \mbox{ln}(\frac{54}{3})
or
x = \mbox{ln}54 - \mbox{ln}3

x = \frac{\mbox{ln}54}{\mbox{ln}3}
=/=
x = \mbox{ln}(\frac{54}{3})
