Logic texts

Could someone reccommend a good text on introductory mathematical logic for independent reading?  I want something that builds everything up from scratch & eventually gets to Godel's theorems.  I am already familiar with rudimentary real analysis & set theory, if that helps.

Just read Nagel & Newman's Gödel's Proof. It doesn't require a whole lot of background.

Thank you, but I was hoping for a little more than just an overview of that one proof, although I realize it will probably be the highlight of any such text.

Make one yourself, publish it and become a millionaire. Then do the same for maths, chemistry and physics.

Well, if you use lots of pictures, no maths, and -lots- of incorrect bullshit, you could.

That would make them even less appealing, since it would exclude the academics that *may* have considered purchasing yet another text on their favorite subjects. Oh, wait, you're trying to appeal to the market of laymen? Can't be done. You're black.

Don't change these.
