Christianity is the worst religion

Name: Ismael Ax 2008-04-25 17:03

Christianity is the worst religion for civilization, since redemption is dependent upon faith, rather than good works, and a lifetime of wickedness can be redeemed by a death-bed conversion.

A thousand years ago, where was the evidence for "atoms"?

Since the advent of structured scientific inquiry combined with a high technology required to enact its methods, the evidence for atoms became quickly conclusive.  Where was ALL rational and reasoned discourse 1000 years ago?  That's right, it was mired in religious fucking NONSENSE.

This "god" has been claimed for millennia, and I'm being generous since there have been multiple incarnations of this thing so it's a bit specious to claim singularity.  In all those thousands of years, where's the fucking EVIDENCE?  There's NONE.  You know a thing that's searched for, over thousands of years and various investigatory ecologies?  They call it "DOESN'T FUCKING EXIST", chum.  The ultimate investigator, science, hasn't found this "god" and given the alleged characteristics of this "god", science should have found it.  Hence it just doesn't fucking exist.

WAKE UP.

P.S.  Once again, if anyone's going to make any claims for the existence for this "god", "heaven" and "hell", then they could have ONLY detected these things, right?  Why make a claim for something existing when you have no evidence for it?  So, I'm STILL WAITING for the evidence to back up >>39's claims.  Put up the evidence, chum!

What would be evidence to you that something Divine is real? If it appeared specially in front of you and gave you a million dollars? You are so selfish.

Show me the evidence that convinced YOU.  And that's just for starters, chipmunk.

Don't you have high standards...  Democritus claimed the existence of atoms more than a thousand years before their discovery.  Where was the evidence in all that time?  That's right, 0.  "DOESN'T FUCKING EXIST"?  A bit early to conclude that, I'd say.

Turns out atoms aren't really indivisible units of matter after all.  Yay for protons, neutrons, and electrons!  Oh crap, protons and neutrons are made of up and down quarks.  Similarly, we can't conclude that strings don't exist because it might take another 1000 years to discover evidence for strings.  Of course, in the absence of evidence, it is also too early to claim their existence.

My answer is, we simply don't know.

Christianity as a whole has been watered down by our society into a shitstorm that both religious and nonreligious hate. It's the pastors/Reverends/whatevers that try to J-J-JAM IT IN to people who end up fucking everything up. A good church should have NO MORE THAT 50 people in a sermon, and should divide into groups when that limit is passed.

But seriously, no one likes that crazy THE WORLDS-A COMIN' TO AN END! ACCEPT JESUS! wino.

ALL CHRISTIANITY IS GAY.

Conservative Christian: "Gays, Muslims, and anybody who isn't a white American is going to Hell."

Liberal Christian: "We're spreading the extreme gospel of Jesus Christ man."

You only prove my point. Those are the examples of public shitfests that ruined it.

Although it opposed gays and other religions, the only thing Christianity requires for salvation is believing that Jesus was the son of God who died on the cross you your (and everyone's) sins. Everything else is just "getting closer to God" and additional self changes to get on better grounds with God. And although it teaches spreading the religion, most people are ham-handed and bluntly force the religion on people, which wont work. B^U

Christianity is about kissing up to a person they're convinced is the supreme God and Judge.

There is no evidence for a God.  Is it wrong to believe in the metaphysical if one keeps the idea completely separate from the physical?

Name: Casual Reader 2008-05-14 3:24

Well said, >>55.

There's no evidence that God doesn't exist.

There's your evidence for non-existence, idiot.  By default, nothing exists without proof.  LOGIC.

Name: Anonymous 2008-05-15 6:25

So aliens don't exist then? They obviously do, but there isn't any proof.

That's not logic, that's practicality.

My faith holds that everything that can be discovered already exists awaiting discovery, therefore everything that gets discovered is already part of God's plan and thus my faith simply gets consistently re-inforced and less-wrong through discovery. So, basically, in laemenn's terms:

echo on
:X
If exist X where X=(ANY|EVERY)THING then "GOD" else "OBLIVION"
:"OBLIVION"
If exist "OBLIVION" where "OBLIVION" = "COMPLETE DISSOCIATION" then "GOD" else "POTENTIAL"
:"POTENTIAL"
if exist "POTENTIAL" where "POTENTIAL" = X then "GOD" goto end
:end

From this, everything that has motion and is observable|sensable or has the potential as such, even as of yet unseen, it exists.

My faith also states one more facet that will not be of interest. (Any|Every)Thing supports (Any|Every) Faith(less) religion; therefore, (every|no)body is (right|wrong). Life = Paradox, hypothesis = Axiom. (Lies|Truths) = Perception where Transmitter = Lie;Perceiver = Truth;Perceiver + Axiom = (Transmitter = Truth{previously Lie}) = Paradox :) See, no matter what, we create the world we live in. :P

Name: Anonymous 2008-05-15 23:54

Look the word faith up in a dictionary.

Name: Mr. Faithful 2008-05-16 1:15

Yup, my faith isn't based upon proof, it's re-inforced by it. My faith was derived from my own flexibile understandings, :P*. Flexible because all creation is flexible and influenced by the course of change whether it's for the best or worst of either oppossing elements. So, all my job is to do is to consistently re-inforce my faith by challenging my faith (putting it to the test) and guess what? Everytime I do it's consistently re-inforced, re-affirmed, and re-constituted. How do you think belief gets its' start? From within. :) Simply use your senses, wait for the opportunities and potentials, once you begin to see similarities and parodies you will begin to want to re-inforce your own faith because it feels good to have it and you want it to grow like a little tree or baby inside of you. If you understand what faith is from my perspective you will understand that the meaning can be molded to be acceptable or not. Thusly, everything in life is a re-inforcement of faith no matter the position. Secondly, everything that doesn't exist already exists in its natural state, but has yet to be uncovered. Take for instance laws made by the hand of man. They go completely against the laws of nature. Everything is privilege including birth and death, the only right is the right of survival by any means necessary. Please, anyone, if you wish to challenge my faith, be my guest, offer me anything you wish, text-book definitions, history, science, math, poetry, you name it, I'll turn it to my advantage. So, remember kids, keep your friends close and keep your enemies closer. For how much closer could a true enemy be then inside your very skull, behind the glazed-over cow-toed eyes of zombie-minded blind-acceptance. Faith isn't blind, justice is blind. But don't take me at my word, look for yourself. Faith is about believing then seeing. Hence, the quarter trick. Believe in what thou whilt for thou art of all the image(s) of God. If you want blind faith, than take me at my final words. "BELIEF COMES FROM WITHIN, IT MUST COME FIRST, WITHOUT IT, ONLY DUST REMAINS."

So, RedCream *pffhshihshih* is still looking for evidence. Well you've come to the right place, my sun. :P*
All you require are within these words, can you read words? Ah...I see you can. Good. Now, how about listening to a person talk until you finally begin to see a change in your own perspective. Ah, but you don't want anything like that, am I right? No, you don't want to see from another person's point of view, you want others to see from your point of view. *pffhshihshih* :P*
Of course you are right, no such BEING exists such as God...oh wait...you keep asking for proof of him, but you are already saying he's there when you ask for evidence of him...*pffhshihshih* :P*
I think you believe in God plenty. Keep up the good work, my sun! :P* *pffhshihshih-haaahaaaaahaaaahaaaahaaaaa!* :P*<UBTW

Christianity is, in general, as evil or stupid as the person following it.  You can do terrible things in the name of both Atheism and Christianity. The religious leader sends his people into battle because he thinks God commanded it, the Stalins and Maos of the world do the same because they see their people as nothing more than meaty fuel to be ground up to feed the machinery of The State. In both cases, the people are equally dead.

Atheists, you can despise a Falwell or the gay funeral protesting guy, but you've known Christians who did it right. Famous ones like Martin Luther King Jr., or just common ones you've run across who seem to have an inexaustible well of generosity and good cheer. You know how many charities have crosses on their logo.

And as far as replying to the original topic, and whether it is or is not a good religion for civilization, I'd say it's a good religion for the initial fostering of a civilization, and after a point it must be discarded. [Woo, run-on sentences]
It provides a social structure and order that's good for the strength of a group of people.

Name: Anonymous 2008-05-23 15:09

I tend to agree with your statements except the final one about discarding. It's a point that many people miss, any religion is meant to be as flexible, changable, adaptable, unifiable as the peoples and times that currently inhabit the planet. If it's not, than only prolonged death remains. You can observe it anywhere, shoot, even Scientology is no exception to that rule. If you put yourself in the shoes of a business man and see a business just sitting there, would you invest in it? No. Why? No profits and gains. But, if you spruce it up, change a few things, adapt it to the people or community (via location) to suit them, to make it personal for them, then and only then does it make sense to continue on with the service, and that's really what religion is, it's a civil service meant to inspire hope and to initiate, unify, integrate, communicate, cooperate, and define one simple beginning so we all have a point of origin. Cause as you know, those who do not know or care about their past, are doomed to repeat it. Then again, such is the human condition, sleep, work, eat, sex, repeat. C'mon, let's liven it up with a little religion, why not.

they are pointless and stupid since no-one ever changes their minds

Name: AnOnYmOuS 2U 2008-05-27 13:50

The only thing that I won't change my mind on is that I need and want both, so, both have to work for me. What would be a better faith than that? The faith of turning everything to your advantageous gain. THE END, GOOD BUY!

Islam, the second largest religion, is also the worst.
Christianity, the largest religion, is the second worst.
These are common knowledge.

Americans and most Westerners don't know shit about Islam other than, "A guy named Muhammad made a bunch of stuff up, invaded the entire Arab peninsula, forced people to convert, and taught that you get 72 virgins."
