The example of magic I always think is the microwave: it's a fucking glowing box that heats food from the inside!
Yes, the microwave works by bombarding the food with microwaves to motivate bipolar molecules (which attempt to align themselves with the magnetic field) which generates heat in friction; however, if by magic you mean something that truely has no explanation then the answer will always be no; but if you mean something filled with wonder and really rather amazing then just look around yourself.
Thoughts: the scientific method is killing off humanity's sense of wonder.

So what's magic anyway? If there'd be some unknown mysterious force that does things when we wave weird wands, well, once it's discovered that's magic as well.
To an extent, perhaps. But I disagree. The scientific method isn't about looking into things because of a sense of wonder, it's about making sure shit is verifiable, has evidence, etc., etc. Such things are not related to wonder.
The hypothesis that is at the very start of the scientific method begins with a person being stricken with a sense of wonder about something. This person then begins to ask "why?" or "how?" or "what?". The scientific method has been a very effective way of finding and proving the answers to these questions.
Now that isn't always a good thing. But mankind has an insatiable appetite for knowledge. We can have our wonder and knowledge together no more than we can have our cake and eat it too.

magic =/= science or math.
if you really want advice:::
inject air into your bloodstream.
and tape it.
and make sure somebody gets that to the interwebs.
ONCE AGAIN, if magic existed then there would be a sufficient body of evidence to support it. After all, magic isn't a new idea, and in fact the idea has been around for millennia. So, it's not like the idea is brand new and we're just getting around to speculating how to prove such a thing. (Note that that's a bit specious in the first place, since the idea of magic should have been prompted from evidence IN THE FIRST PLACE.)
In extreme contrast, there is NO EVIDENCE WHATSOEVER for magic. Modern claims of magic involvement are either:
· unproven and the circumstances look just like every other scam concocted throughout history
· unproven and can't be proven since the proponents act like con men and avoid proof
· unproven and don't survive methods of confirmation
When something as allegedly pervasive as magic ends up with ZERO evidence to support it, the matter summarily resolves itself: magic therefore doesn't exist.

Some people do believe in spiritual magic like gentle miricles occour through religious prayers for example a healing prayer.. someone recovering from a fatal disease such as cancer.
Magic reminds me of a wizard firing a ball of light out of his hands as a weapon... this obviously is impossible so concluding magic is fictional and only occours in books/films and games.
magic itself is not real

FLAMETHROWER, LASERS, FLARE GUNS, EVEN FLASHLIGHTS ARE FUCKING AMAZING
As 12 quoted, take a flamethrower back in time, and people will think you're fucking Merlin.

Your mumbo-jumbo doesn't do away with the fact that even a "gentle miracle" is still testable for proof. There are plenty of people dying around us that experiments can be conducted to measure the effective power of this prayer crap.
Of course, there is a sufficiency of anecdotes to indicate that point #3 apples ("unproven and don't survive methods of confirmation"). We have many people dying just as quickly, surrounded by fiercely praying relatives, as those who die unmourned and unloved. If prayer really saved anyone, then all it would really take IS prayer, and people would be using prayer instead of surgical procedures and medicine. However, what we really have here is the occasional cancer remission, and of course the superstitious animals around the patient quite stupidly attribute it to prayer instead of statistics.

Apparently they found some alien machines (called "Drones") which function by inputting complex runes onto the outside. This makes them float, turn invisible ect..
The guy who claims this ,who goes by the alias "Isaac", apparently worked on these "Drones" in a top secret base somewhere during the 80s. He compared it to magic.
Of course, he's probably bullshitting... the runes look like they've been inspired by Japanese Katakana for one thing. But recently some random people have seen these things in the sky, taken some pics and they match his descriptions perfectly.
Just search Drone pics into google or something to see for yo'self.
So ya, there could be magic out there... somewhere and to some degree at least.
"If magic existed then there would be a sufficient body of evidence to support it."
There is ZERO evidence that inscribing runes on ANYTHING imbues said object with power, motive or otherwise.
Also, you can find a gazillion fuzzy pictures and shaky video on the Internet, and those doesn't prove anything. "Things far away in the sky" don't constitute proof. Luckily for sensible men, we know that "things far away in the sky" are still subject to the same forces of entropy, hence they tend to FALL FROM THE SKY and produce physical evidence. Planes, balloons, birds, ice, water and stones do it all the fucking time. YET ... we don't have even ONE "Drone".
Hence, they're bullshit. Something that exists should provide evidence for its existence, and the more outlandish or pervasive it is, the more evidence it will (should) produce. When there's ZERO evidence, then the only rational conclusion is that the claim is bullshit.

Actually, it WAS confirmed to be for Halo 3. I didn't follow the whole retarded thing closely, but Microsoft released some documents/emailed links to people that preordered it and shit.
I am a Kaos Magickian of no small power!! My life swirls around me as the winds of fate and I pluck and strum them as I will, bringing forth circumstance and change that better suits me. I am gathering together a dark cabal of likewise orientated Seekers, and together we will focus our wills towards the remaking of all the world!! EVEN NOW, my sigils FLARE with HUNGER!!
MWA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA A HA HA HA HA HA
The sad thing is, most major religions can be disproven if you can disprove magic, even christianity. For example, the bible is the word of god, and it talks about magic like a fact, so if there is no magic then that makes god wrong.... and if god is wrong about something that he created, he can't exist. He SUPPOSEDLY knows everything, but not whether or not he made magic?
