Differentiate with respect to x:
 
2x = 1 + 1 + ... + 1 (x times)
 
2x = x.
 
Let x = 1.
 
Thus, 2 = 1.

f(x)= x + x + ... + x (x times) is not continous, its only defined if x is an integer. then, is not derivable.
