glide ratio 7:1 means plane moves forward 7 feet
for every 1 foot altitude (height) lost.

so if a plane at 10000 feet in air has its engine shut off.
how fast will it be moving forward when the plane touches the ground.

or sometimes the engine stalls, yes it happens.  lots of the time the engine starts back up while you are gliding down.

the main reason for the question was to find out the speed of the aricraft if the engine dosen't turn back on.

We are still missing information, since any plane could not fall at a predetermined speed (i.e. 9.8ms^-2) while using that fall speed to move itself forward, so we can't give you an answer.

the basic question was you start at a still plane
not moving forward, not goin up not coming down.
still frozen in air.  10,000 feet in the air.
with a glide ratio of 7:1 what is glide ratio is already explained.  what speed would it hit the ground.
again there is no drag, there is no cross winds,
weight wouldn't matter because of glide ratio.
angle is not important again glide ratio.
distance only height is important.
all the random factors have been taken out of the question.

just needed to know what speed it will hit the ground when it lands. in Km/Hr.

but seriously, how are you supposed to figure out how fast lenght/time the plane is travelling, when you don't have any information on how long it takes the plane to move 7 feet.

but if we take gravity into account we have to figure out how the glide rate affects the 9.8m/s^2 generic drop.

so i'd iamgine it's something like the attraction speed divided by the drop rate and then measured out for a 10000ft drop or something like that, but i'm not really sure of any of this.
