glide ratio 7:1 means plane moves forward 7 feet
for every 1 foot altitude (height) lost.

so if a plane at 10000 feet in air has its engine shut off.
how fast will it be moving forward when the plane touches the ground.

obviously you dumb ass have never been in a small single engine plane.  lots of then you can shut the engine off in the air and glide back to the ground.
or sometimes the engine stalls, yes it happens.  lots of the time the engine starts back up while you are gliding down.

the main reason for the question was to find out the speed of the aricraft if the engine dosen't turn back on.
