I was wondering if someone could explain polynomials or post a good link where I can learn about them.

Go to school, stay in math class, bam you know polynomials

That's what I do, it's just that the teacher's suddenly decided to set an assignment on polynomials which I learnt sometime last year. I honestly don't remember much of it and I don't have the same textbook from last year.

Meh, disregard this thread as I've found resources explaining polynomial functions and I think I can work out the assignment now.

Polynominals are finite power series of holomorphic functions expanded at 0.

Hope that helps.

The following are examples of polynomials (of x):

x^2+x+1
5
x+4
x^5+2*x^2+2

Basically it's powers of a variable, each having their own coefficients (numbers they're being multiplied by).

and the powers can only be postive integers, otherwise it's not a polynomial (except for the constant term, i.e. the number on it's own without x)

Don't change these.
